Fewer birds at the feeders these past few milder days. In a few weeks, the Grackles will be flying in and they will dominate our bird feeding station. Thought I heard a Red-Wing Blackbird a couple days ago.
Freezing rain overnight and a light drizzle this morning when Pheebs and I were out. Roads were wet but not slippery so we ventured around a few country blocks looking for a photo or two. A dull and drab day with temps hovering just above the freezing mark. And then came the snow.

After writing the first paragraph this morning about not seeing many birds at the feeders that abruptly changed this afternoon when it began snowing heavily. Our feeders were quickly set upon by many little frenzied feathery flyers. Cardinals, Juncos, Nuthatches Finches, and Black-Capped Chickadees. Didn't see any Blue Jays.
Kelly's doctor's office at London's University Hospital phoned this morning with an appointment for her a week from today. She will undergo two procedures back to back next Monday afternoon.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A missionary, in Africa, was out taking a walk in the jungle. Suddenly, he heard a noise from the brush in front of him. It was a lion. He started to back up and heard a noise from behind. Sure enough, it was another lion. He looked to his left and then to his right. You guessed it, lions were on both sides. It looked grim, so the missionary sat down where he was and started to read his Bible. Shortly after he started reading, the lions jumped the missionary and ate him. Moral of the story: Never read between the lions.
My wife asked me why I was doing the dishes while sitting down. Told her it was because I can't stand doing it.
