ANOTHER STEP CLOSER TO OUR 'WISE OLD OWL' BADGES....AND, SHARKS IN A WHEATFIELD??

SPOTTED THIS LITTLE FELLOW NEAR THE PARK'S POND THIS AFTERNOON
Overnight heavy rains left a thick cloud cover overhead this morning as I headed over to my good buddy Richard's place in the Subaru.  It was my turn to drive this time on our semi-monthly country road coffee tour.  Knowing country roads would be muddy I stayed on pavement.  Picked up a couple coffees and accompanying muffins at Bayfield's Tim Hortons and headed off south down around the Grand Bend area.  We noticed a lot of water standing in fields with some area creeks and rivers over their banks.  Rivers had the color of chocolate milk as soil from area farm fields eroded into the rivers.  The rivers in turn carried all that muddy water into Lake Huron turning its normally greeny blue shoreline waters brown.  Bayfield's Tim Horton parking lot was really flooded and we nearly had to put Subie on a barge to float it out of there.  Our morning coffee run lasted a couple hours and by the end of that time I think we both concluded that once again we were one step closer to being awarded our Old Geezers, 'Wise Old Owl' badges:))

THIS IS TIM HORTONS FLOODED PARKING LOT AREA EARLIER TODAY
RECENT RAINS HAVE SPURRED LUSH GREEN GROWTH IN THE COUNTRYSIDE
I THINK HER NAME IS STEPHANIE
ON MY WAY TO EXETER ON PARR LINE WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON I SAW THIS TRIO OF SHARKS CIRCLING IN A WHEATFIELD
 I DON'T KNOW, I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT EITHER
Sunshine finally broke through our mid-afternoon cloud cover as skies began to finally clear.  With comfortably cooler humidity-free air upon us, Pheebs and I were soon out the door for a walk around the Park's pond area.

COULD OUR PARK'S POND HAVE IT'S VERY OWN LOCH NESS MONSTER
I PLANTED A FEW BUNCHES OF DAYLILIES ALONG THE POND'S BANK YEARS AGO AND THEY ARE STILL DOING WELL

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A journalist assigned to the Jerusalem bureau takes an apartment overlooking the Wailing Wall. Every day when she looks out, she sees an old Jewish man praying vigorously.  So, the journalist goes down and introduces herself to the old man.  She asks, "You come every day to the wall. How long have you done that, and what are you praying for?"  The old man replies, "I have come here to pray every day for 25 years.  In the morning I pray for world peace and then for the brotherhood of man.  I go home, have a cup of tea, and I come back and pray for the eradication of illness and disease from the earth."  The journalist is amazed.  "How does it make you feel to come here every day for 25 years and pray for these things?" she asks.  The old man looks at her sadly.  "Like I'm talking to a wall."

  3. I would think we would have to drink all the Tim Hortons coffee shops in North America dry before we ever came anywhere close to getting our 'Wise Old Owl' badges.
