HAVE YOU NOTICED THESE PAST FEW DAYS GETTING LONGER??

Surprisingly, for this time of year, we had a 45F day.  If this is the new Winter I then say, bring it on.  A touch of sunshine today would have been the icing on the cake.  However, it was under a heavy overcast of drizzling rain that Pheebs and I turned east onto Bayfield River Road after leaving our Park and drove to the T-intersection 3 miles away, made a U-turn, and came home.  Not much in the way of photos today so I've included a few pics from the last three days that didn't make it into my previous daily posts.

Hey, have you noticed these past few days getting longer??  I have:))

eing my usual forgetful self, I forgot to add something to my post a couple days ago. Kelly's brother Peter, posted this to Facebook on December 23rd......'My mom and dad shared the same birthday on December 23rd. This was a wedding picture taken at the family home in Manchester, NY. Dad was in the Marines and home on furlough before shipping out to Hawaii and then on to Iwo Jima. They did not see each other for 3 years after this.'

Al's Music Box:))
Travelin' On is one of my favorite songs by Hagood Hardy.   He played mainly jazz and easy-listening music. He is best known for the 1975 single, "The Homecoming" from his album of the same name, and for his soundtrack to the Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea films.  Hardy was born in Angola, Indiana. His mother was an American citizen. He came to Canada as an infant settling in Brantford Ontario and grew up in Oakville, Ontario. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College, Toronto and studied music privately in Toronto with Gordon Delamont. As a young man, he participated in bebop jam sessions on Gerrard Street in Toronto. In the 1960s he played vibraphone in the bands of Martin Denny, Gigi Gryce, Herbie Mann, and George Shearing.

GROANER'S CORNER:((
“The whole purpose of places like Starbucks is for people with no decision-making ability whatsoever to make six decisions just to buy one cup of coffee. Short, tall, light, dark, caf, decaf, low-fat, non-fat. So people who don’t know what they’re doing, or who on earth they are can, for only $2.95, get not just a cup of coffee but an absolutely defining sense of self.”

- “Common sense is like deodorant. The people who need it most never use it.”

- “You know you’ve reached middle age when you’re cautioned to slow down by your doctor, instead of by the police.”

Murphy and his wife, a middle-aged couple, went for a stroll in the park. They sat down on a bench to rest. They overheard voices coming from a secluded spot several benches away. Suddenly Mrs. Murphy realized that a young man was about to propose.  Not wanting to eavesdrop at such an intimate moment, she nudged her husband and whispered, "Whistle and let that young couple know that someone can hear them."  Murphy said, "Whistle? Why should I whistle? Nobody whistled to warn me."
