MALE AND FEMALE DOWNIE WOODPECKERS I THINK |
I am not going to complain about the heat and humidity. I am not going to complain about the heat and humidity. I am not going to complain about the heat and humidity. There, now that I have that out of the way, maybe I can get on with things. Only there isn't much to get on with today. Kelly headed off in the Subaru this morning to another dental appointment in Exeter while Pheebs and I stayed home. We offered to drive her there but she said 'nope' and that was that. I think with this morning's 86F temp she was concerned about Pheebs and I having to sit in the car for a couple hours waiting for her. Pheebs and I would have done that but she's the Big Kahoona here and us guys gotta do what we're told or else. We're off to London's University Hospital tomorrow.

Al's Music Box:)) This Masquerade is a song written by American singer and musician Leon Russell and was recorded by American singer and jazz guitarist George Benson, who released it on his 1976 album, Breezin'. Benson's version, featuring Jorge Dalto on piano, was released as a single and became the first big hit of his career. It was a top-ten pop and R&B hit. It was his first single release. Benson's rendition is the only charting version of the song in the U.S. It reached number 10 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 1977, Benson's version won a Grammy Award for Record of the Year, while it was nominated for Song of the Year and for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male.

NICE TO SEE DAY LILIES BLOOMING IN OUR YARD AGAIN |
GROANER'S CORNER:(( The middle aged man was visibly shaken when his Doctor advised that he had only 6 month's to live because of the terminal disease that was detected during a recent physical check-up. The Doctor suggested that he should get his 'house in order' , make sure his Will was current and ensure all final arrangements were in place for the funeral. He should then make plans to enjoy what might be left of his life, to the fullest. "What will you do for the last six months?" asked the Doctor. His patient thought for a few minutes then replied, "I think I'll go and live with my Mother-in-law." Surprised by the answer, the Doctor asked, "Of all people, why in the would you want to live with your Mother-in-law?" "Because it'll be the longest six months of my Life!"---------------
A policeman brought four boys before a judge. "They were causing an awful lot of commotion at the zoo, your Honor," he said. "Boys," said the judge sternly, "I never like to hear reports of juvenile delinquency. Tell me your names!! "My name is George," said the first boy, "and I threw peanuts into the elephant pen.""My name is Pete," said the second boy, "and I threw peanuts into the elephant pen." "My name is Mike," said the third boy, "and I threw peanuts into the elephant pen." "My name is Peanuts," said the fourth boy.

It's typically considerate of Kelly to not want you and Pheebs to wait in
ReplyDeletethe hot car.The heat and humidity have been hard to cope with for a lot of us
That poor crow reminds us that wildlife struggles

comfortable -Mary
Birds here in TX don't pant until it is over 100F. I always hate to see it...cardinals, sparrows, etc. Not many crows here in town. Being all black, they probably really absorb the heat from the sun....
ReplyDeleteDid the crow have access to cool water? I hope he is okay.
ReplyDeleteIt was sitting directly above our birdbath full of water which is next to our front yard frog pond. A couple of hundred yards away is the Park's pond and a mile east of us is a small lake. Plus, a mile and a half west of us is Lake Huron, so the crow had access to lots of water. The crow was in the tree for about 20 minutes and only flew away when it saw Pheebs walk into the sunroom.
DeleteJust read on another blog from up there that the humidity was 78% in the middle of the day. THAT is the problem. Sheesh.
