BUT BY GOLLY I DID GO BACK FOR SECONDS

Thursday night, after posting the blog, we headed to Bayfield's Woodland Drive-In for ice cream and then down to the beach area to catch a sunset over Lake Huron.  The only problem was...there was no sunset.  The sun had set behind a heavy cloud cover, and that was that.  Under threatening but warmer skies this morning, Pheebs and I slipped around a few country roads snapping half a dozen pics before returning home.  It wasn't long before we could hear thunder coming in over the lake.  And then came the rain.  Nothing serious, and by mid-afternoon skies cleared.  I think we topped out at about 65F today.  Warmest day of the year so far I'm guessing.  Wished I had more stuff to write about, but.............

It's been quite a few years since I last came face to face with a yummy stir-fry, but by golly, I sure did come face to face with one for supper tonight.  Woodsy, busy in the kitchen this afternoon, and determined to break me of my peanut butter and cereal habit, sure did herself proud.  In that yummy stir fry were yellow peppers, red peppers, mushrooms, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, onions, celery, and chicken chunks, plus seasoning.  It is very rare for me to go back for 'seconds' (except desserts) but by golly I did go back for seconds of Woodsy's stir fry:))

The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore by the Walker Brothers
is a song written by Bob Crewe and Bob Gaudio.  It was originally released as a single credited to Frankie Valli as a solo artist in 1965 on the Smash label, but was more successful when recorded by the Walker Brothers in 1966.  They released their remake as a single. Re-titled "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore", this version met with much greater success than Valli's. It became their highest-charting song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S., where it peaked at #13.  The single also hit the top 10 in Canada, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Norway.  The Walker Brothers' recording has since garnered retrospective critical acclaim, and is considered the group's signature song.  NME ranked the song at #357 on its list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time", Pitchfork ranked it at #187 on its list of "The 200 Best Songs of the 1960s", and it is listed in the 2010 book 1001 Songs You Must Hear Before You Die.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( I've sure gotten old!  I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement,  New knees, fought prostate cancer and diabetes.  I'm half blind and can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine.  I take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. I have bouts with dementia and poor circulation.  Hardly feel my hands and feet anymore.  Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92.  I ahve lost all my friends, but, thank God, I still have my driver's license.

The police officer got out of his car and the man who was stopped for speeding, rolled down his window.  “I've been waiting for a speed demon like you all day,” the officer said.  The man replied, “Well, I got here as fast as I could.”

A Policeman recently stopped a woman for exceeding the posted speed limit. He asked the driver her name.  She said, "I'm Mrs. Ladislav Abdulkhashim Zybkcicraznovskaya from the Republic of Uzbekistan visiting my daughter in Tallahassee."  The cop put away his summons book and pen, and said, "Well... OK... but don't let me catch you speeding again."
