KELLY'S DAUGHTER SABRA CAME TODAY AND BEGAN WORKING ON HER MOM'S ROOM

I DIDN'T TAKE ANY PHOTOS TODAY BUT I STUMBLED ACROSS A FEW FILE PHOTOS OF PHEEBS AND I TAKING OUR LAST CLASS A MOTORHOME FOR A SPIN
A dark and gloomy looking morning.  So dark at one point, our outside night lights came on.  I heard a few peals of thunder early on and then the rains came.  Lots of it, and it rained on and off for most of the day.  I busied myself cleaning up things (not that things weren't clean in the first place) but someone was coming this morning, and I knew it was going to be a difficult day for them.  Kelly's daughter, Sabra, rolled in shortly after noon at 12:22 .  Since her Mom's passing back in early December, she had never been here, and she had a mammoth task ahead of her.  I left Kelly's room basically untouched because I knew there were a lot of things in there that her daughters Sabra, and Rebecca, as well as her sons, Ben and Jason, might like to have.  I didn't want to begin dispensing with Kelly's personal things like clothing, footwear, jewelry, papers, photos, and cosmetics, etc., before her children had a chance to go through things.  Having been here for over 6 months with all of Kelly's things, I was basically okay with today, but I could see it was very difficult for Sabra, and I felt sad about that.  But, Sabra is like her Mom, and she was up for the task at hand, bringing bins, boxes, and labelling tape.  She soon busied herself with going through and organizing things.  I stayed out of Sabra's way but made myself available if she needed help with anything or had any questions.  With her Mom's cool determination, Sabra worked away all afternoon with hardly a break, sorting and organizing all of her Mom's stuff.  She filled bins, boxes, and bags, and by the time she finished up at 7:15 this evening, she had her car loaded with family stuff to take back to Cambridge.  But, she still isn't finished.  Knowing this job might take a few days, she pre-booked into an area Bed & Breakfast and will be back in the morning to continue sorting things.  I was totally amazed at how much she accomplished today, and I think Sabra surprised herself as well.  But, like her Mother, she's a hard worker and when she sets her mind to getting things done, she gets them done!!

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A man and his wife were driving their Recreational Vehicle across the country and were nearing a town spelled Kissimee.  They noted the strange spelling and tried to figure how to pronounce it - KISS-a-me; kis-A-me; kis-a-ME. They grew more perplexed as they drove into the town.  Since they were hungry, they pulled into a place to get something to eat. At the counter, the man said to the waitress: "My wife and I can't seem to be able to figure out how to pronounce this place. Will you tell me where we are and say it very slowly so that I can understand."  The waitress looked at him and said: "Buuurrrgerrr Kiiiinnnng."

Little Sonia was shouting her prayers. "Please God send me a new doll for my birthday."  Her mother, overhearing this, said, "Don't shout dear, God isn't deaf."
"No, but Grandad is, and he's in the next room," Sonia replied.

A wife woke in the middle of the night to find her husband missing from bed. She got out of bed and checked around the house. She heard sobbing from the basement. After turning on the light and descending the stairs, she found he husband curled up in the corner of the basement,... crying like a baby. "Honey, what's wrong?", she asked, worried about what could hurt him so much. "Remember, 20 years ago when you got pregnant and your father threatened me to either marry you or to go to jail?" "Yes, of course," she replied.  "Well, I would have been released from jail this afternoon!"

  1. Lovely to see Kelly's Mom and Dad ... she sure looked like her Dad, such a warm smile. That must've been tough today for Sabra, but it was very respectful of you to leave all Kelly's things for her to go through. Hard worker, just like Kelly, yes.
Ooooh, I'm envious of your rain. We're drier than popcorn, but hopefully, a system may bring us some rain soon. Barb M.
