I WONDER IF ANYBODY RECOGNIZED WOODSY

It was another ice cream delight for Woodsy and I on Wednesday evening.  This time it was at the Woodland Drive-In for a couple of soft ice cream twist cones. (vanilla & chocolate) Cloudy skies were looking ominous, and while waiting for the cones, the first peels of thunder came rolling in across the lake.  It wasn't long before a few raindrops landed on our windshield and chased us home.  But, not before our usual cruise through and around Bayfield.

Thursday, I just simply ran out of hours and didn't get around to writing a post.  In the morning, ContinuIT (computer place) phoned Monica, saying her cell phone and computer tablet were ready, so while in Goderich later, Woodsy and I picked them up for her.  Monica was later a happy camper to have her phone and tablet back and working well again.  It wasn't a serious virus that had made them both go wonky, but some advertising sites had got in....  Late Thursday evening, Woodsy and I decided to go out to eat for a change.  Lorraine had never been to Renegades Diner, so off we went.  Fish'n'Chips for Wiz and an open-face turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy for me.  Following that, it was a cruise through Bayfield and then out to my country road walk spot for an evening stroll.  A nice way to wrap up another mighty fine midsummer's day.

IN GODERICH, THURSDAY WHILE PARKED IN FRONT OF CAIT'S CAFE I SAW THIS LITTLE DOGGY WITH HIS MOM PATIENTLY WAITING FOR DAD TO COME OUT OF THE CAFE WITH SOME YUMMY MUFFIN SNACKS
Overnight temperatures dropped into the high 50's making for a cooler start to Friday.  I decided to dispense with my morning country road drive and instead take advantage of the cooler morning air and continue with my little outside project near the carport.  I was able to shovel up a bunch of pea stone gravel embedded in the ground in that area and then, using a wood-framed metal strainer sitting atop the wheelbarrow, shake all the dirt off those stones so I could re-use the pea stone in the area where the utility trailer sits.  I raked out the already roto-tiled area and then went over it with a hand-pulled roller.  Following that, I grass-seeded the area and watered it.  That all took me close to an hour, and by that time temps had ramped up from 56F to over 70F, and the humidity was climbing, so that was my cue to call it a day as far as doing any more puttering around outside.  I was done.  It was 10:45 a.m. and we were on the cusp of a predicted 3-day heat wave.  Not much else happening today.  Woodsy busied herself making another big batch of chicken soup while I exchanged a few pieces of furniture between the living room and the sunroom.  Say, I wonder if anybody recognized Woodsy in a photo I had in the blog a couple of nights ago where folks were gathered in Bayfield's Pioneer Park to watch the sunset:))

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A young couple were on their honeymoon. The husband was sitting in the bathroom on the edge of the bathtub, saying to himself, "Now, how can I tell my wife that I've got really smelly feet and that my socks absolutely stink? I've managed to keep it from her while we were dating, but she's bound to find out sooner or later that my feet stink. Now, how do I tell her?"  Meanwhile, the wife was sitting in the bed saying to herself, "Now, how do I tell my husband that I've got really bad breath? I've been very lucky to keep it from him while we were courting, but as soon as he's lived with me for a week, he's bound to find out. Now, how do I tell him gently?"  The husband finally plucks up enough courage to tell his wife and so he walks into the bedroom. He walks over to the bed, climbs over to his wife, puts his arm around her neck, moves his face very close to hers and says, "Darling, I have a confession to make."  And she says, "So have I, love."  To which he replies, "Don't tell me, you've eaten my socks."

A wife asks her husband: "What do you like most in me, my pretty face or my sexy body?"  He looks at her from head to toe and replied: “I like your sense of humor!”

A woman has twins, and gives them up for adoption. One of them goes to a family in Egypt, and is named "Amal." The other goes to a family in Spain; they name him "Juan."  Years later, Juan sends a picture of himself to his mom. Upon receiving the picture, she tells her husband that she wishes she also had a picture of Amal. Her husband responds, "But they are twins--if you've seen Juan, you've seen Amal."

  1. Yes, that's Woodsy in the burgundy top standing next to the guy in red!!!! Lots of people out there then! Well done with that gravel plan, good idea. But take it easy, doesn't have to be done in one day. Lovely photos, always love them, thank you.

  5. Sounds like a great day getting out and about! The flowers are so pretty. I really like your filtered piece at the end. Feels like the ocean. Miss Kelly sure embraced the southwest, looks like she always lived there.
