It was late Thursday afternoon when Woodsy and I headed to Goderich. A few things were needed at the Walmart Pharmacy but before going there, we decided to head down to the north side of the Goderich harbor to where the Goderich Harbor Restaurant aka The Old Salty is located. Lorraine said this was our second time here, with our first time being in the mid-eighties. I had no recollection of that. Kelly and I brought the Motorhome here a couple of times a few years ago and ate our fish and chips inside the rig where the mosquitoes couldn't get at us. Luckily, last night there were no mosquitoes. |

From there, we headed back up the hill into Goderich and down the hill on the other side of the harbor for a walk out to the end of the pier. It was a lovely night, and so nice to be by the water. We were too early for the sunset, but that was okay. Picked up a few things at Walmart and then headed home.

I again made sure I didn't let the humidity keep me inside this morning, so Subie and I headed off out into the countryside to see what photos I could find. I did stop at my walking spot for a short walk, but I didn't go far. When the sun would pop through the light cloud cover, it would crank the humidity, and I didn't want any part of that miserable stuff. Much more comfortable in the car with the two front windows down, the sunroof open, and the morning's fresh breeze blowing my hair all over the darn place.

Not much going on in the afternoon today. Afternoons for me are generally quieter anyway, and that is quite alright with this fella. I'm a morning person. Let's just git at er and a git er down, eh:)) |

It was 1:50 p.m. when we loaded Woodsy's bicycle into the car and drove into Bayfield. Dropped her off at Clan Gregor Square, and she was off peddling herself around Bayfield. It's a great way for her to get to know the little village, and she loves bicycling. At 3:30, I was back at Clan Gregor Square to pick her up. She said she had another great ride around the village. |

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Six guys were playing poker when Smith loses $500 on a single hand, clutches his chest, and drops dead at the table. Showing respect for their fallen comrade, the other five complete their playing time standing up. Roberts looks around and asks, "Now, who is going to tell his wife?" They draw straws. Rippington, who is always a loser, picks the short one. They tell him to be discreet, be gentle and don't make a bad situation any worse than it is. "Gentlemen! Discreet? I'm the most discreet man you will ever meet. Discretion is my middle name, leave it to me." Rippington walks over to the Smith house, knocks on the door, the wife answers, and asks what he wants. Rippington says, "Your husband just lost $500 playing cards." She hollers, "TELL HIM TO DROP DEAD!" Rippington says, "Okay, I'll tell him.---------------------------------------

A son calls his mother. Mom, how are you? Mom replies. Not too good. I haven't eaten in 38 days. Replying with concern, the son asks, "what's the matter mom, are you not feeling well, have you been to the doctor?" Mom replies, not that, "I didn't want to have my mouth full of food when you called."

ReplyDeleteLovely pics in Kelly & Pheebs corner tonight….like the long fence shot also.
Looks like a very good day for everybody. And some fine photos. If I had to pick one, maybe the 3rd horse photo....
ReplyDeleteWas just thinking that ship looks pretty beat up...scary something that old and decrepit will be loaded with salt and head off. Attagirl Woodsy, checking if those kids were supervised! Wonderful photos...especially Kelly with her kids...my my, the resemblance is so striking. Pheebs' photos are so nice. And those horses look so good. Poor ole Lonesome Horse had his ribs showing the last time I saw him.

Lots more clean up this year around your house. Are you getting ready to sell?
ReplyDeleteNo, not at this time but the main idea behind the big clean-up this year was to get the house in saleable condition for sometime in the the future. Figured I had better get all this clean-up work done now while I was still healthy enough to do it. Just thinking ahead.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your fast reply! Living near Phoenix,Az I would miss seeing your wonderful pictures of greenery and water! Your pictures remind me of my 1st 25 yrs. in Minnesota living on a lake! Thank you again for your Blog! Ginny
ReplyDeleteBeautiful horses.! Sure wish "old lonesome" could live there too & have a nice pasture & friends. Thanks, Al.
