A FEW PHOTOS OF KELLY'S CELEBRATION OF LIFE YESTERDAY IN SPENCERPORT, NEW YORK

 IN OUR PARK
It was the rain beating on our steel room at 3 a.m. that had me up in a groggy state, hastily closing windows and doors I had left open to let in the cool night air.  In that state of Grog, I probably closed the cupboard and closet doors I had left open as well.  Leaving cupboard doors open now at this age is a common daily practice......Not much of a sunset Saturday night, but I did get one shot off along my walking road.  Following my walk, I slipped over to Tower Line Road to the tall Eastlink communication tower in hopes of getting a little stargazing in.  However, it was not to be.  Clouds were moving in, so I had to go to plan B.  Saw a red blinking light on the horizon to the south so headed off to find what might be another tall communication tower.  However, by the time I got to Varna, it was just another one of many wind turbines in that area.  From Varna, I headed west back to Bayfield.  I love cruising around Bayfield at night, so I took some pictures with my iPhone to send to Woodsy in Stratford.  The pics below are all iPhone pics except for the wheelbarrow shot.

'Yay Team', Woodsy rolled in this morning about 11. It's always great to see her.  This will brighten me up over the next few days.  And, some days, I do need a lot of brightening up.  Nearly every time Lorraine comes, she makes this very delicious salad that I like, and for me to call any kind of salad delicious is a big stretch.  She cuts up the following ingredients into small pieces....watermelon, cucumber, chicken, and Feta cheese.  To this, she adds varying salad dressings such as honey mustard dijon.

On Facebook this morning, I spotted some photos of Kelly's Celebration of Life in Spencerport, New York.  I knew they were going to do some picture boards of Kelly, so the following photos are from her son Ben's Facebook page and her brother Peter's Facebook page, plus a few other pics from the day.

 SATURDAY NIGHT'S RURAL SUNSET
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A priest, a doctor, and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers. The engineer fumed, "What's with those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!" The doctor chimed in, "I don't know, but I've never seen such inept golf!"  The priest said, "Here comes the green-keeper. Let's have a word with him." He said, "Hello George, what's wrong with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?" The green-keeper replied, "Oh, yes. That's a group of blind firemen. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime." The group fell silent for a moment. The priest said, "That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight." The doctor said, "Good idea. I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see if there's anything he can do for them." The engineer said, "Why can't they play at night?"

  2. Wonderful that the photos allow you--and blog readers--to share in Kelly's celebration of life. Lovely historical photos of Kelly's life, and also the photos of her family. And Woodsy's salad looks so very tasty...keep the peanut butter in the bottom drawer, and eat those salads.
Now...just like those yellow butterflies were suggesting, Al, keep going forward.
