| GOODBYES ARE ALWAY SAD AND ESPECIALLY SO WHEN IT'S LIKELY ONE MAY NEVER SEE THESE PEOPLE AGAIN |
Despite what looked like an overcast sky on Wednesday evening, I did head out to my walking spot. Stepping out of the car I was amazed at the ominous cloud formations which I somehow didn't notice while driving there.

Up a touch earlier on this latter August morn. I knew Sabra and Rebecca would be returning earlier after spending the night at the Bayfield South Suites a few miles south of Bayfield on the Bluewater Highway. Before they arrived, I had myself out for a country road walk followed by a short drive through the countryside. It was a beautiful sunny morning with a few clouds and a slight warming north breeze. Saw a few butterflies on my walk, but nothing like last week when they swirled around me. I wish I had thought to take a video of that with my iPhone, which I had in my pocket. Oh well, maybe next August.

Home again, I whipped myself up a two-egg omelet with onions, cheese, and chunks of ham. Had I had some green peppers, I would have tossed them in too. No, I have not tried adding peanut butter to my two-egg omelets.

Sabra and Rebecca rolled in about 12:30 and resumed their sad task in their Mom's room. But, I must say, neither one of those two gals let that sadness interfere with the job that had to be done. I helped out with little bits here and there when needed, but basically, I let Sabra and Rebecca make the decisions regarding the distribution of all of their Mom's things. As the day began to wind down, they took a break and we all sat around the kitchen table reminiscing about their Mother. We also had a second moment standing in Kelly's bedroom when we talked about Kelly, and I was able to bring them more memories of their Mother and what a good person she was. There were some chuckles, and there were some tears. And then.....they were finally done, and with Sabra's car fully loaded down, it was time to say goodbye. I knew this would be a difficult time because the reality of the situation is that it was unlikely we would ever see each other again. Our lives, for so long entwined with Kelly's, would now move on in other directions and interests, but the love of their Mother will bond us together forever.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( The man was in no shape to drive, so he wisely left his car parked and walked home. As he was walking unsteadily along, he was stopped by a policeman. "What are you doing out here at 2 A.M.?" asked the officer. "I'm going to a lecture." The man said. "And who is going to give a lecture at this hour?" the cop asked. "My wife," said the man.-----------------------------------
I'm at my boss's funeral, kneeling and whispering at the coffin..."Who's thinking outside the box now, Gary?"

My friend bought a bus pass to a nude beach. It turned out to be a ticket to no wear.

I was in a couple’s home trying to fix their Internet connection. The husband called out to his wife in the other room for the computer password. “Start with a capital S, then 123,” she shouted back. We tried S123 several times, but it didn’t work. So we called the wife in. As she input the password, she muttered, “I really don’t know what’s so difficult about typing Start123.”

An old-time pastor was riding furiously down the road, hurrying to get to church on time. Suddenly, his horse stumbled and threw him to the ground. Lying in the dirt, his body wracked with pain, the pastor called out, “All you angels in heaven, help me get up on my horse!”With extraordinary strength, he leaped onto the horse’s back—and fell off the other side. From the ground again, he called out, “All right, just half of you angels this time!”

Bless you, Al, on that door closing. Kelly's family knew she was happy with you.
ReplyDeletePlease don't end any relationship you had with Kelly's children and their families. 34 years with their mom ... you can tell them so much about Kelly during that time. I miss not seeing her during that time because she never had time because her time was with her family in Spencerport. She was very proud of them and would want you to enjoy her family. Even if just by phone calls. What a loving memorial to her loved ones.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that Kelly's family will stay in touch with you Al. Maybe it's time to find a pup who needs a good home and companion. Your photos tonight are spectacular - each and every one of them. Take care
ReplyDeleteDon't burn bridges Al you are a link to Kelly's kids. They may need that link!
ReplyDeleteStunning stormy skies - love it! Another step completed in moving on. Sweet girls, lovely memories shared.
ReplyDeleteSad yes, but time for new paths to be forged by all. The memories will aways be there and a part of Kelly will constantly remain in your heart. Contessa
