BUMBLE BEE IN A SUNFLOWER
Due to storm cells moving through the area and with some of them packing heavy rain, there was no evening walk or country road drive on Monday evening. Luckily, we woke up to a bright sunny morning and a cooler 55F. Summer's transition into Autumn is well underway. And, what a welcome change from summer's heat and humidity it is too:)) However, not looking forward to a dreaded long and cold winter all over again:((((((!!!!

OVER THIS BEANFIELD TO THE EAST WERE STORM CLOUDS
Another beautiful morning sky with big white puffy clouds overhead, to the south, and west. But oh my, such dark and stormy looking skies to the northeast. With it being very windy I donned a nylon jacket overtop my warmer clothes and I'm glad I did. That cold wind was all but ripping out all the cornstocks and flying them off into the next county. A nice slow and relaxing countryside drive netted me a few photos.

I think it was around noon when those morning cold winds brought in a traveling rain front. With the much cooler dampness in the house, I turned the furnace on to take that dampness out of the air. After lying dormant for the last 3 months, I was relieved to hear the furnace come on, followed by warm air coming out of the floor registers. We heat with natural gas here. And, there's something so comfy-cozy and a feeling of relief at this time of year to know the furnace will be up and running correctly from now until late Spring, to maybe around the end of May. Say, I wonder if there is any way of fast-forwarding late October, and all of November, December, January, February, March, and April, to mid-May. Ya, I didn't think so:((

ANOTHER FINE LATE AUGUST MORNING FOR A RELAXING COUNTRY ROAD DRIVE

THE MORNING WIND WAS REALLY BLOWING THESE CORN STALKS AROUND
It was with sadness a week or so ago that I learned of the passing of a fellow RV'er, Blogger, and nature photographer, GordonWolford. Kelly and I first met Gordon and his wife Sandra when they dropped around to see us at our boondocking site at Gunsight Wash, just south of Why, Arizona. I liked Gordon, he was soft spoken and easy to talk to. It was the only time we saw Gordon and Sandra. Gordon was an exceptional photographer who specialized in nature photography. He was a true photographer whom I sometimes referenced in my blog back in those days, around 2007. Gordon's photography site can be found here at Gordon Wolford Photography

GORDON WOLFORD
Al's Music Box:)) Rainy Night In Georgia by Brook Benton.
GROANER'S CORNER:(( One Sunday, a cowboy went to church. When he entered, he saw that he and the preacher were the only ones present. The preacher asked the cowboy if he wanted him to go ahead and preach. If I went to feed my cattle and only one showed up, I'd still feed him."So the minister began his sermon. One hour passed, then two hours, then two-and-a-half hours. The preacher finally finished and came down to ask the cowboy how he liked the sermon. The cowboy answered. If I went to feed my cattle and only one showed up, I sure wouldn't feed him all the hay."--------------------------------

Another fantastic, information filled post. As always, your photos are beautiful. I would feel my day was not complete if I did not read The Bayfield Bunch. Thanks Al ! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely, as always.

I miss seeing pics of Kelly and Pheebs!
ReplyDeleteI know Kelly & Pheebs are constantly in Al's heart & mind. But, I imagine it is very sad to sit down & comb thru files of photos & choose ones to put in the blog each day. He has to live thru every memory all over again.! Kind of like constantly picking at an open sore. Give his heart a chance to heal a little bit - Al has been thru a lot this year. If You miss those photos - just go back a few days or weeks or years in his blog & relive a day in his life. I admire the strength & attempts by Al to do whatever it takes to find little bits of happiness each day. He is trying to find peace.
DeleteWOW Cactus Flower!, You nailed it!, Well said. Sincerely Jean
DeleteGlorious pics of the stormy skies over the farm. I love the transition seasons, feeling the first cool after a hot summer and the warm after a long winter! Nice shout out for Gordon, a talent that will be missed. Another great gallery, sweet little boy and his puppy.
