BEING A YOUNG FARM GIRL YEARS AGO

I'M GLAD I DIDN'T GIVE ALL MY MOTORCYCLE GEAR AWAY IN THE BIG SPRING PURGE THIS YEAR (I BOUGHT THAT MOTORCYCLE HELMET FOR $25 AT A SATURDAY MORNING GARAGE SALE AT THE NORTH RANCH RV PARK BETWEEN CONGRESS AND WICKENBERG, ARIZONA)
Sunday night, around 7:30, we suited up and powered up the E-bikes and headed off to Bayfield.  With the night air being a tad nippy, we were dressed for it.  Our destination was Rosie's Ice Cream Shoppe.  It didn't take us long to bike into Bayfield, and I was soon in an ice cream line-up with eleven people in front of me.  Woodsie remained with the bikes kitty-corner across the street, in front of the The Pink Flamingo Bakery & Boutique where there is an outside seating area.  The Pink Flamingo was closed of course.  After working our way through our Pralines & Cream ice cream cones, we headed south along Main Street and made the turn for home, following Louisa Street to Short Hill Road, which led us down to the Bayfield River Bridge, whereupon we crossed using the concrete walkway.  We were home again by 8:30, which was plenty of time for me to settle in to watch my two favorite Sunday Night TV programs, 'Beyond Skin Walker Ranch' and 'The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch'.

We spent much of the day on yardwork again, with a lot of branch trimming and flower bed cleaning.  Another utility trailer load to the Park's recycle area.  Being a young farm girl years ago, Woodsy knows how to pitch right in and get things done.  She has been a big help with all the outdoor stuff, as well as all the inside stuff, too.  And, she makes a mean sausage soup.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( At school one morning, the teacher asked little Johnny what he had for breakfast. Little Johnny said, well, on my way to school I came cross this Apple tree, so I climbed up there and started eating apples. I guess I eat about six, said little Johnny. No, said the teacher, it’s ate! Little Johnny said well it could've been eight I don't remember.

Little Moron A: "Excuse me, what time is it right now?" Little Moron B: "It's 11:25PM." Little Moron A: (confused look on face) "You know, it's the weirdest thing, I've asked that question thirty times today, and every time someone gives me a different answer."

----------------------------------

Little Johnny's mother is making lunch when Johnny comes in from playing outside, covered in dirt. "Johnny, you need to clean up for dinner," his mother says, looking at his left hand. "I've never seen a hand so filthy." "Then you haven't seen this one," Johnny replies, holding up his right hand.

  2. Good for you for keeping that helmet. I find every time I get rid of something (and it doesn't happen very often), sure enough, six months later I need it. So I've learned to keep stuff...on the off chance I might need that 3-hole punch before I die. *grin*

  3. First picture. I thought you were sitting in a side-car getting ready to go for a ride. That's a great helmet. Thanks for the post.
