IN YEARS PAST, WE HAVE BEEN KNOWN TO HAVE SNOW ON THE GROUND A FEW TIMES

ANOTHER DRIVE TO GODERICH TODAY WITH A FEW PHOTOS ALONG THE WAY
I think we have had enough rain over these past three days and nights to float a battleship.  The upside is that it makes the ground easily workable for digging up ferns, hostas, and other plants for replanting elsewhere.  Back in the summer, we planted a holly beside our front porch steps.  This morning I moved that holly over a few feet.  Woodsy has another idea for the spot where the holly was.  Today's 48°F temps were great for working around outside again.  All and all, a two thumbs up day for late October when in years past, we have been known to have snow on the ground a few times.

OUR AUTUMN COLORS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL NOW

WE HAVE HAD OVER A WHEELBARROW WORTH OF RAIN IN THE PAST FEW DAYS
ONE OF MY PROJECTS THIS MORNING WAS TO MOVE THAT HOLLY AT TOP RIGHT OVER TO A NEW SPOT AT THE LEFT
 AND, THERE IT IS
Wednesday evening, we zipped into Bayfield to catch the sunset, but with the sunsets happening earlier each night, we missed it by a couple of minutes.  But no matter, the western sky was filled with a wondrous array of large gray impressive clouds.

AND TO THINK THAT IN A MATTER OF MONTHS, LAKE HURON OUT THERE COULD BE FROZEN  OVER FOR AS FAR AS THE EYE CAN SEE
I ALWAYS REALLY ENJOY SEEING PEOPLE WITH THEIR DOGS
WE WEREN'T THE ONLY ONES AT BAYFIELD'S BEACH ENJOYING THE SUNSET'S AFTERMATH
 A GREAT LATE OCTOBER EVENING

A FINE WAY TO WRAP UP ANOTHER DAY
Al's Music Box:: Elusive Butterfly by Bob Lind.

GROANERS CORNER:(( This guy was watching TV while his wife was out cutting the grass during the hot summer. He finally worked up the energy to go out and ask his wife what was for supper. Well, his missus was quite irritated about him sitting in the air-conditioned house all day while she did all the work, so she scolded him. "I can't believe you're asking me about supper right now! Imagine I'm out of town, go inside and figure dinner out yourself." So he went back in the house and fixed himself a big steak, with potatoes, garlic bread, and a tall glass of iced tea. The wife finally walked in about the time he was finishing up and asked him, "You fixed something to eat? So where is mine?" "Huh? I thought you were out of town."

Did anyone see the joke I posted recently about my spine? It was about a weak back.

In a murder trial, the defense attorney was cross-examining the coroner:
Attorney: Before you signed the death certificate, had you taken the pulse?
Coroner: No.
Attorney: Did you listen to the heart?
Coroner: No.
Attorney: Did you check for breathing?
Coroner: No.
Attorney: So, when you signed the death certificate, you weren't sure the man was dead, were you?
Coroner: Well, let me put it this way. The man's brain was sitting in a jar on my desk. But I guess it's possible he could be out there practicing law somewhere.

  2. Please send some of your rain to us in the Maritimes. We've had very little of it since July. July 24 was the last day we mowed our lawn.
