CHRISTMAS DAY 2025

AN ICE AND SNOW BUILDUP ALONG LAKE HURON'S SHORELINE AT BAYFIELD'S BEACH AREA
Wednesday, Christmas Eve Morning:: With sunshine aplenty and overhead blue skies hosting an above-freezing day, my camera and I were out the door, into the Subaru, and off into the countryside.  Even though it will be short-lived, it was so nice to see farmers' fields polking through the slowly melting snow.

LORRAINE AND I MADE IT TO LAKE HURON'S HORELINE JUST IN TIME FOR THE SUNSET TUESDAY NIGHT
HOW NICE TO SEE CLEAR BLUE SKIES ON MY COUNTRY ROAD DRIVE WEDNESDAY MORNING
YEARS AGO, FARM KIDS WITH THEIR ICE SKATES MIGHT HAVE GATHERED HERE
DEFINITELY A GREAT PLACE FOR ICE SKATING AT THIS FARM
I WILL BE SO GLAD TO SEE GREEN FOLIAGE ON THESE POPLAR  TREES AT THE SOUTH END OF OUR PARK
 TEASLES ALONGSIDE THE ROAD
I MISS MY WARM STARRY NIGHTS PARKED ATOP THIS HILL ON TOWER LINE ROAD
OH, HOW I LOVE TO SEE THE COLOR GREEN EMERGING FROM THIS MELTING BLANKET OF SNOW
Thursday: Christmas Morning:: A nice, quiet Christmas morning, just the way Lorraine and I like it.  Woodsy had hoped for a nice Christmasy snowfall, but I was quite happy to see sunny skies and hear the drip-drip sounds of melting snow. We two do have our differences we two do.  Talking this morning, we figured out that the last Christmas we had spent together was way back in 1987.  I think Christmas gifts that year consisted mainly of ski gear.  We were both into downhill and cross-country skiing at that time.  This afternoon, Lorraine had fixed up a turkey dinner for our good neighbor, Monica, so we walked it across the road and had a visit with Monica.  Monica is 93, and she still flies around the area in her Subaru Outback just like my 98-year-old Aunt Jean still flies around Sarasota, Florida, in her Toyota Camry.  There's no keeping these older Gals down.

I DIDN'T HAVE A CHRISTMAS TREE BUT I WAS ABLE TO THROW THIS TOGETHER WITH A FEW CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS I FOUND AND A COUPLE OF BIG WHITE PLASTIC BAGS
Al's Music Box:: Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying by Gerry and The Pacemakers. (one of my all-time favorite songs)

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A new hair salon opened up for business right across the street from the old established hair cutters' place. They put up a big bold sign which read: "WE GIVE SEVEN DOLLAR HAIR CUTS!"  Not to be outdone, the old Master Barber put up his own sign: "WE FIX SEVEN DOLLAR HAIR CUTS!"
