| WE SURE LOVE OUR LITTLE CHIPMUNKS AROUND HERE |
Fortunately, Tuesday night's skies remained clear, and I was able to get out for a look at the stars. However, because of the cold 23F temps, I stayed in the car and did my stargazing through the windshield, side windows, and the moonroof. Saw one satellite, one aircraft, the planets Venus and Jupiter, and the constellation Orion. The lights of Clinton twinkled on the horizon to the southeast. I had my music with me, of course, but unfortunately, it seems I left most of my thoughts at home. So, with that and the cold night air, I soon toddled off back to my cozy little house. I'm already looking forward to returning to my night spot on a warmer night, and next time I will be sure to bring my thoughts with me. Maybe even tell you what some of those thoughts are sometime.

Despite the temps being well below freezing this morning, the sun was out, so I hit the decks a running. Over the past few days, I had accumulated a lot of yard waste from my various projects, and had wheelbarrowed it out to the road. So, first thing this morning, I hitched up the utility trailer, loaded up the waste, and hauled it off to the Park's recycle area. I would have headed out for a country road walk before that, but with a brisk east wind blowing, the windchill factor was down in the teens somewhere. Temps came up through the day, but the east wind stayed icy. Because of that icy wind, I decided to go ahead with a project in the backyard where I would be out of the wind. I took down the trellis lattice work between the two sheds that I had constructed nearly twenty years ago. The old wood was kind of rotten, so the framework came apart fairly easily, but a Weigela vine, over the years, had tangled itself around the lattice and wooden framework, and getting it all cut up and untwisted was another story. Let's just say, I had to do a lot of cutting. Anyway, by 4 o'clock this afternoon I had 90% of it down, loaded into the utility trailer, and hauled off to the Park's recycle area. I also planted more grass seed today, and with rain predicted for tomorrow, I'm hoping to see some new green grass sprouting in a couple of weeks.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( So this old man is walking down the street in Brooklyn. He sees a young boy sitting on the street in front of a candy shop, shoving sweets in his mouth as fast as possible. The man walks up to the boy and says "You know son, it’s really not healthy to eat all that candy." The kid looks up at him and says, "You know my grandfather lived to be 97 years old."The man replies "Oh and did he eat a lot of candy?" The kid looks at him and says "No, but he knew how to mind his own business."
