I THOUGHT IT WAS TUESDAY, BUT NOPE, IT'S THURSDAY

With Tuesday's clear blue skies stretching into evening and on into the night, I was out the door, into the car, and out into the countryside.  But I just missed the sunset by mere minutes.  I've gotta keep a closer watch on the daylight hours as each day becomes shorter and shorter, and I must remember to dress warmer as each night becomes cooler and cooler.  It was a nice bright three-quarter Moon tonight, with the full Moon being on Saturday.  Saw one high-flying aircraft and two satellites.  The only constellations visible in the bright moonlit sky were a few in the Northern Hemisphere, like Ursa Major (the Big Dipper), Ursa Minor with Polaris, the North Star, Cassiopeia, Draco, and Cygnus the Swan (Northern Cross) directly overhead.

 TUESDAY NIGHTS THREE QUARTER MOON
My sunny day began in the usual way, and pretty much stayed like that for the rest of the day.  A nice early Autumn walk and then home again to putter in the flowerbeds, plus slip into Bayfield for a couple of bags of topsoil at Goldcoast Landscaping.  Also cleaned and vacuumed the car's interior, etc. Nothing too exciting.  Tomorrow is my diabetes appointment at Goderich's Maitland Valley Medical Center.  I thought it was Tuesday, but nope, it's Thursday.

SHORT ON PHOTOS TODAY. I AGAIN HAD TO SLIP OUT INTO THE FRONT YARD TO SEE WHAT I COULD FIND
CROCUS FLOWERS ARE STILL IN BLOOM
A CANTANKEROUS OLD OGRE IN ONE OF MY FLOWER BEDS? NOPE, JUST A GNARLY OLD TREE STUMP
A HOSTA LEAF WITH A DECAYING CLUSTER OF SUNBURST LOCUST TREE LEAVES
IT WAS A GOOD, COOL DAY FOR CLEANING THE CAR'S INTERIOR

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A young girl who was writing a paper for school came to her father and asked, “Dad, what is the difference between anger and exasperation?” The father replied, “It is mostly a matter of degree. Let me show you what I mean.” With that, the father went to the telephone and dialed a number at random. To the man who answered the phone, he said, “Hello, is Melvin there?” The man answered, “There is no one living here named Melvin. Why don't you learn to look up numbers before you dial?”. “See,” said the father to his daughter. “That man was not a bit happy with our call. He was probably very busy with something, and we annoyed him. Now watch…” The father dialed the number again. “Hello, is Melvin there?” asked the father. “Now look here!” came the heated reply. “You just called this number, and I told you that there is no Melvin here! You've got a lot of guts calling again!” The receiver slammed down hard. The father turned to his daughter and said, “You see, that was anger. Now I'll show you what exasperation means.” He dialed the same number, and when a violent voice roared, “Hello!” The father calmly said, “Hello, this is Melvin. Have there been any calls for me?”

Jeff Dunham: Did you get the tattoo?
Walter: Hell no.
Jeff Dunham: Well, if you had, what would you have gotten?
Walter: I would have gotten a beautiful woman's face.
Jeff Dunham: Ah, and where would you have put it?
Walter: On my wife's face.

Ask anybody over 30 -- if they tell you they have more than 10 friends, you know they're counting co-workers.

Kids can sometimes ask the toughest questions.
Son: Father, can I ask you a question?
Father: Ok ask.
Son: When a doctor doctors a doctor, does the doctor doing the doctoring doctor as the doctor being doctored wants to be doctored or does the doctor doing the doctoring doctor as he wants to doctor?

Moses was sitting in the Egyptian ghetto. Things were terrible. Pharaoh wouldn't even speak to him. The rest of the Israelites were mad at him and making the overseers even more irritable than usual, etc. He was about ready to give up. Suddenly a booming, sonorous voice spoke from above: "You, Moses, heed me! I have good news, and bad news." Moses was staggered. The voice continued: "You, Moses, will lead the People of Israel from bondage. If Pharaoh refuses to release your bonds, I will smite Egypt with a rain of frogs." "You, Moses, will lead the People of Israel to the Promised Land. If Pharaoh blocks your way, I will smite Egypt with a plague of locusts." "You, Moses, will lead the People of Israel to freedom and safety. If Pharaoh's army pursues you, I will part the waters of the Red Sea to open your path to the Promised Land." Moses was stunned. He stammered, "That's...that's fantastic. I can't believe it! But what's the bad news?" "You, Moses, must write the Environmental Impact Statement."
