I ENDED UP A FEW SHADES OF WET

 AN AFTERNOON RAIN OUTSIDE KEPT US INSIDE TODAY

With overcast skies this morning, it wasn't long before it began to drizzle, but I was able to get three more wheelbarrow loads of pine needles and leaves raked up and dumped into the utility trailer before heavier rains were upon us.  It's easier to rake up pine needles when they are dry and I wanted to get that done before the rains came.  However, I ended up a few shades of wet before I finally retreated inside.  Woodsy rolled in from Stratford around noon and was soon busy in the kitchen fixing up things for a Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow.  And by golly, she whipped up an apple crisp for today.  One of my favs, and it was yummy:))))

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Church Bulletin Board Bloopers::

- A new loudspeaker system has been installed in the church. It was given by one of our members in honor of his wife.

- Eight new choir robes are currently needed, due to the addition of several new members and to the deterioration of some older ones.

- Scouts are saving aluminum cans, bottles, and other items to be recycled. Proceeds will be used to cripple children. 

- The outreach committee has enlisted 25 visitors to make calls on people who are not afflicted with any church.

- Please place your donation in the envelope along with the deceased person you want remembered. 

- The ladies of the Church have cast off clothing of every kind. They may be seen in the basement on Friday afternoon.

- "Father is on vacation. Massages can be given to the church secretary. 

- The congregation is asked to remain seated until the end of the recession.

- Announcement: "The cost for attending the Fasting and Prayer Conference includes meals."

- The agenda was adopted. The minutes were approved. The financial secretary gave a grief report.

My kids love going onto the internet, and they keep track of their passwords by writing them on Post-it notes. I noticed their Disney password was "MickeyMinnieGoofyPluto," and asked why it was so long. "Because," my son explained, "they say it has to have at least four characters."

He was an inventor of note. He created a big shoe with a phone in the heel. Now, he thought, he could use a phone whenever he wanted. He made several more so that he could have several shoes with phones in the house. One day, an emergency came up and he needed a phone bad. Would you believe it, he couldn't find a single phone boot.
