| THE STAIRCASE LEADING DOWN TO THE BEACH AT BAYFIELD'S PIONEER PARK |
How is it even possible to have so many nice weather days back to back at this time of year? I think I had better not ask questions and just simply enjoy these fine Autumn days one day at a time while they last.

We had ourselves a quiet morning in remembrance of little Freya, a six-month-old baby with a serious illness that we had been hoping and praying would pull through after a series of operations and setbacks. After putting up a gallant fight, Freya sadly passed away last night. She was the granddaughter of one of Lorraine's best friends in Stratford.
It was 2:40 this afternoon when I dusted off the E-Bikes and dressed warmly we saddled up for a ride into Bayfield. Surprisingly, it wasn't as cold as we thought it might be. At 60°F, the sun felt warm on our backs. We stopped at Pioneer Park, and I took a few photos. At the south end of the Park is a staggered staircase leading down to the beach below. Lorraine, ever the exercise buff, wasn't long in hoofing herself down the steps to the out-of-sight beach. On the way back up, she took the steps two at a time and counted each of the ?? steps all the way to the top. |

From Pioneer Park we slipped into Bayfield and grabbed ourselves a couple of excellant coffees at the Shop Bike Craft Coffee Roasters on Bayfield's Main Street. Rosies Ice Cream Shoppe just down the street was open, but we skipped by on our way home. It was a great ride into Bayfield and back on the late October day. With more nice weather ahead, we hope to get out for another ride or two over the next week.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Sunday after church, a Mom asked her very young daughter what the lesson was about. The daughter answered, *'Don't be scared, you'll get your quilt.'* Needless to say, the Mom was perplexed. Later in the day, the pastor stopped by for tea and the Mom asked him what that morning's Sunday school lesson was about. He said, *'Be not afraid, thy comforter is coA sweater I bought was picking up static electricity, so I returned it to the store.

Joe said, "Know what, Charlie? I killed 5 flies yesterday, 3 males and 2 females." "How could you tell them apart, Joe? asked Charlie. "Joe replied, "It was easy. The 3 males were sitting on a case of beer, and the 2 females were on the phone."
One night, a man on his way home happened upon a drunk, down on his hands and knees searching for something under a street light. The man asked the drunk what he was looking for so diligently and the drunk said he had tripped and his Rolex wrist watch had broken loose from his wrist. The man, being a kindhearted soul, got down on his hands and knees and began assisting the drunk looking for his watch. After about ten minutes without any success, the man asked the drunk exactly where he tripped. "About a half a block up the street," the drunk said. "Why, pray tell," the man asked the drunk, "are you looking for your watch here if you lost it a half a block up the street?" The drunk replied, "The light is a lot better here.

The saddest thing I can think of is losing a baby. Many years ago an aunt of mine lost a child six weeks after birth, and my aunt suffered depression for months.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry about the baby---SO SAD. I remember I used to run up steps. You captured the beauty of your area. Glad for such a nice day for you and Woodsy.
