AND IT WASN'T EVEN 10 A.M. YET

NICE EARLY MORNING COUNTRY DRIVE
The day heated up way too fast for me but I was still able to get the little Boogs out for her morning Jeep ride and a short walk.  Home again I washed the car and found a Jeep underneath.  Immediately after that my energy levels tanked and the day was over.  It wasn't even 10 a.m. yet.  Spent the rest of the day mostly in my recliner with a fan beside me reading and looking at the insides of my eyeballs.  Pretty exciting stuff eh.  Sunday doesn't look any more promising.  Nor does next week or the week after that.  And then it's August:((

"No one gave it to me dad," replied the spunky lad. "I had to fight for it."

BEAM ME UP SCOTTY

Another in a seemingly endless span of miserably hot and humid summer days.  I tried to do a little more outside clean-up on the RV but gave up in frustration after about half an hour.  Can't stand that hot, sweaty, sticky, and clammy feeling.  Beam me up Scotty and set a direct course for a cooler Galactic Planet.  Warp speed 9 and don't spare those new induction engines getting there!!!!

One day God was looking down at Earth and saw all of the rascally behavior that was going on. So he called one of His angels and sent the angel to Earth for a time.  When he returned, he told God, 'Yes, it is bad on Earth; 95% are misbehaving and only 5% are not.  God thought for a moment and said, 'Maybe I had better send down a second angel to get another opinion.'  So God called another angel and sent him to Earth for a time.
When the angel returned he went to God and said, 'Yes, it's true.  The Earth is in decline; 95% are misbehaving, but 5% are being good.'  God was not pleased. So He decided to e-mail the 5% that were good, because he wanted to encourage them, and give them a little something to help them keep going.  Do you know what the e-mail said?
Okay, I was just wondering, because I didn't get one either.

FOUND US A WALL HUGGER RECLINER FOR THE RV TODAY

KEEPING COOL ON THESE HOT DAYS
With rain falling from the sky this morning it wasn't a long Jeep ride for us guys.  Home again shortly after we left I concentrated my energies in our car-port out of the rain cleaning and organizing the recent mess that has accumulated in there.  Dinette seats from the Winnebago  and boxes of RV stuff packed away after we emptied our Motorhome over a year ago.  About a third of the stuff will go into our Class C once we get organized to that point.
CLEANED THE BACK CAP THIS MORNING
CLEANED THE TWO SIDES OF THE FRONT CAP
TOWING PLUG ON THE LEFT CONNECTED OUR CLASS A MOTORHOME TO THE JEEP ..... TOWING PLUG ON THE RIGHT IS FOR THE CLASS C ..... HOUSTON, DO WE HAVE A PROBLEM HERE??
Rain ended about mid morning and despite the heavy humidity I was able to begin cleaning the back cap on the rig.  That done between a few light showers I next did both sides of the front cap before I had to retreat into the house and throw myself into the shower.
SAW THIS ON THE INTERNET TODAY AND I LIKED IT
Part of our RV's renovation plans included finding a small used wall hugging recliner.  No easy task when it seems that all recliners we have looked at were too big and not wall huggers.  Kelly placed an ad in our local area Marketplace site on Facebook and received a reply from a lady in Clinton.  She had just what we were looking for so it was off to Clinton with us this afternoon.  Half an hour later we were home again with a very clean and like new wall hugging recliner in the back of the Jeep.  It's always nice when things work out like that.
THAT'S THE WALL HUGGER RECLINER WE PICKED UP THIS AFTERNOON

Many years ago, a fisherman's wife blessed her husband with twin sons. They loved the children very much, but couldn't think of what to name their them. Finally, after several days, the fisherman said, "Let's not decide on names right now. If we wait a little while, the names will simply occur to us."
After several weeks had passed, the fisherman and his wife noticed a peculiar fact. When left alone, one of the boys would always turn towards the sea, while the other boy would face inland. It didn't matter which way the parents positioned the children, the same child always faced the same direction. "Let's call the boys Towards and Away," suggested the fisherman. His wife agreed, and from that point on, the boys were simply known as Towards and Away.
The years passed and the lads grew tall and strong. The day came when the aging fisherman said to his sons, "Boys, it is time that you learned how to make a living from the sea." They provisioned their ship, said their goodbyes, and set sail for a three month voyage.
The three months passed quickly for the fisherman's wife, yet the ship had not returned. Another three months passed, and still no ship. Three whole years passed before the grieving woman saw a lone man walking towards her house. She recognized him as her husband. "My goodness! What has happened to my darling boys?" she cried.  The ragged fisherman began to tell his story:
"We were just barely one whole day out to see when Towards hooked into a great fish. Towards fought long and hard, but the fish was more than his equal. For a whole week they wrestled upon the waves without either of them letting up. Yet eventually the great fish started to win the battle, and Towards was pulled over the side of our ship. He was swallowed whole, and we never saw either of them again."
"Oh dear, that must have been terrible! What a huge fish that must of been!"  "Yes, it was, but you should have seen the one that got Away...."

AT THIS STAGE OF LIFE WE BOTH FEEL THIS SMALLER 24' WINNIEGATOR IS JUST THE RIGHT FIT FOR US

NEW MOWN HAY
Had to do a double take when going by the Time Horton/Convenience Store/Gas Bar in Bayfield this morning.  Saw a large 18 wheeler flat bed truck unloading huge I-beams for the gas bar canopy.  The grand opening must have been moved up to 2025 or something.
Saw a couple big farm combines on the move earlier today.  Maybe moving into place for the upcoming wheat harvest.  Also noticed several fields have undergone their second cutting of clover and alf-alfa filling the air with a sweet smell of new mown hay.  It's a great time to be out and about in the countryside these days.
READY TO GO
I LIKE HOW THIS FARMER ROUNDED OFF THE CORNER OF HIS WHEAT FIELD

Pheebs and I were home early again trying to stay ahead of the gathering heat.  Concentrated my energies on the RV cleaning a number of areas such as the generator, propane tank, electrical bay, battery bay, two storage bins, as well as the area around the gray and black dump tank outlet.  Next I may tackle the back cap.  Unlike earlier years when I would try to do everything in a day I find it's better to use my dwindling energy sparingly nowadays and do only small sections at a time.  Well, at least that is what I am trying to do.  I have been known to get a little over energetic at times.
Feeling better these days now that our year long RV search is finally over and we finally found what we were looking for.  Is it the perfect RV?  No of course not and I don't think there is such a thing as 'a perfect RV'.  Lots of 'best' RV's to suit peoples wants and needs at a specific time alright but I stop at the word 'perfect'.  We have only had our Winnie Itasca Spirit a little over 5 days and we both still have the feeling inside that, 'yes this is the right RV for us right now at this time'.  Keep in mind we have not gone anywhere with it yet but we are both confident this rig will work out just fine for us.  Of course I've said that a couple times before haven't I when we bought a couple previous Class C's nearly a decade ago
.  Different circumstances this time.  Kelly was never comfortable about driving our latest RV which was a 37' Class A Motorhome but this 24' Winniegator is totally doable for her and that is a big plus.  If something should happen to one of us the other one is not stuck with a big Dinosaur they have no interest in driving, maintaining, or going anywhere in.  We intentionally tried to keep things simple this time with no hydraulic jacks and no electric or hydraulic slides to screw up.  On our last journey to the Southwest we paid a small fortune in hydraulic line repairs!!  And this Class C has ordinary size tires that I could at least have a chance of changing if push came to shove. The list goes on of course but we just feel better with fewer things that can and do go wrong with RV's.  For us, at this stage of the game,  we feel this smaller Winnie is just the right fit for us.............

The minister's little six-year-old girl had been so naughty during the week that her mother decided to give her the worst kind of punishment. She told her she couldn't go to the Sunday School Picnic on Saturday.  When the day came, her mother felt she had been too harsh and changed her mind. When she told the little girl she could go to the picnic, the child's reaction was one of gloom and unhappiness.  "What's the matter? I thought you'd be glad to go to the picnic," her mother said.  "It's too late!" the little girl said. "I've already prayed for rain."

TODAY I NOTICED A SPRING IN MY STEP

I'M GUESSING THIS LITTLE CHAP AT A BELTED KINFISHER SEEN AT GODERICH'S NORTH HARBOR
From my comfy recliner I could see early morning sunshine tickling our tall pine tree tops.  Outside thermometer said it was 52F.  An acceptably nice start to another July day.  Needing a few cleaning supplies for the rig's exterior clean-up Pheebs and I headed off to Goderich's Canadian Tire Store.  While there I checked out a 'rear-view camera' system for our Winnebago Spirit.  So many cameras on the internet market with so many different options it's confusingly hard to pick one.  So I didn't.  Half a dozen other stops in Goderich looking for a Chlorox cleaner I never did find then it was down to the harbor for a drive out to Rotary Cove.
LAKE HURON LOOKED SO REFRESHING THIS MORNING IT ALMOST MADE ME WANT TO CLAMBER DOWN THOSE ROCKS AND TAKE A DIP

A TOUCH OF GREEN IN THE NORTH HARBOR
Home again I finished waxing the Chevy truck cab and did a bit of outside cleaning on the rig.  We put the two year old awning down to have a look and it's in perfect condition.  By 1 o'clock I had to shut myself down because of the intensifying heat and humidity.  Probably won't get much done Wednesday because our days are getting progressively hotter again.  They say it will feel like a hundred plus here by the week-end.  Not nice:((
THE RIG'S AWNING IS IN GREAT SHAPE
My weight continues to drop and and I am down seven pounds now to 197.  I attribute that to the many changes I have made in my eating habits over the past couple months focusing especially on the reduction of sugar and carbohydrates.  I noticed a spring in my step this morning as I walked across the Walmart parking lot in Goderich.  Been slowly noticing other weight loss benefits as well but for today it was the spring in my step:))

A businessman on his deathbed called his friend and said, "Bill, I want you to promise me that when I die you will have my remains cremated."
"And what," his friend asked, "do you want me to do with your ashes?"
The businessman said, "Just put them in an envelope and mail them to the Internal Revenue Service. Write on the envelope, "Now, you have everything."

FIRMING UP A FEW WINNEBAGO RENOVATION PLANS

MOVED THE RIG'S FRONT END INTO THE SHADE SO I COULD WASH AND WAX THE CAB
Well, I sure had myself in a great big huge ker-fuffle Sunday night seconds after publishing my blog and only seeing part  of my post go public.  What I didn't see were the words 'Read More' at the bottom left.  I thought that 'Read More' was an option and had seen it on a few other people's posts but I myself had not chose that option.  It was Kelly who noticed those two words and peeled me off the ceiling.  I was convinced I had totally lost about 90% of my post.  I suspect I may have accidentally clicked on an icon called a 'jump break line' and that's what did it.  I have long time Blogger and RV friend Donna B McNicol to thank for cluing me in on that.  But also, I think there may be shenanigans going on with Google again because I later noticed my 'new' Blogger Dashboard had 'partially' reverted back to the old Dashboard and I had nothing to do with that.  The dashboard I have now is a combination of old and new Blogger.  I like it and hope they keep it.  No more changes please, it's hard on us older folks!!
I ENDED THE DAY WITH ONLY 4 PHOTOS....THAT MUST BE SOME KIND OF RECORD FOR ME
I welcomed the lower 63F temperature this morning.  Didn't even mind it being cloudy as Pheebs and I cruised around the countryside not far from home.  This coolness is only a short reprieve before the miserableness returns in a few days.
AND YES I USED MEGUIRES WAX
We fired up the rig shortly before 10 and headed a short distance over to Richard and Gayle's place to show them the Winniegator.  Being RV'ers themselves and being a very knowledgeable vehicle person I always welcome Richard's thoughts, ideas, and opinions.  With his engineering mind he always has ideas on how to improve things and his work and craftsmanship is second to none.  By the time we left three and a half hours later we had lots of ideas and a solid plan worked out.  More about that as we move forward with the renovations:))  Oh, and a couple reader's questions to be answered.....Doug in a comment a few days ago wondered if we would be heading to Solar Mike's in Slab City California to have another solar system installed and the answer to that is 'probably not'.  Doris in a comment asked what I used to wash the rig's roof Sunday.  A simple answer here, bucket of water with dish soap added.  Used a good long handled scrub brush too.
TOMORROW (COOL WEATHER PERMITTING) I WILL BEGIN THE CLEAN-UP ON THE FIBREGLASS COACH PART OF THE RV
