BAYFIELD TO WATERFRONT PARK AT POINT EDWARD ONTARIO

THAT RIGHT OVER THERE IS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
It was a short Jeep ride around a couple country blocks for Pheebs and I this morning and we were soon home again.  Still had things to load into the Winnie-Wagon for today's travels.  Although we'll only be gone for a couple days you would have thought we were loading up for a 6 month trek to the American Southwest.  Well, maybe not that bad but I'm sure we had the usual amount of stuff we didn't really need.

A SILVERY GRAY CLOUD COVER TODAY
It was exactly 10:45 when we rolled out the driveway and headed south through Bayfield towards Grand Bend.  Sure nice to be on the road in an RV going somewhere again.  It's been about a year and half since we last returned from the Great American Southwest in March of 2018.  A couple Tim Horton coffee's to go in Grand Bend and we continued south.  No, we didn't go through the drive-thru.  Our destination for the day was Waterfront Park in Point Edward which is a part of Sarnia Ontario and right across the St. Clair River from Port Huron Michigan.  The Park is located partially under the Blue Water Bridge connecting our two great countries.  Very impressed with this Park and it's setting.  Backed into a spot in the parking lot's northeast corner and shut it down for the day.  We did not see any signs forbidding overnight parking and if we did have to move we knew there was another large parking area at a Casino a short distance away south of the bridge.  And yes, there is free Wifi here with great reception.  Bonus:))

THE BLUEWATER BRIDGE BETWEEN CANADA AND THE UNITED STATES

THIS IS THE VERY FAST FLOWING ST. CLAIR RIVER LOOKING SOUTH...RIVER IS RUNNING RIGHT TO LEFT
LOOKING NORTH INTO LAKE HURON AND SHORELINE ON RIGHT LEADS TO BAYFIELD
OUR SPOT FOR THE NIGHT
So far we are making out just fine in the rig but really miss the convenience of solar power.  We were just so used to plugging things in without having to worry about wearing batteries down.

A LARGE FREIGHTER HEADS DOWN RIVER

I HEARD VOICES IN THE WATER AND SPOTTED TWO HEADS BOBBING ALONG...LOOK CAREFULLY AND YOU CAN SEE THEM ABOUT DEAD CENTER
IT'S QUITE POPULAR HERE FOR SWIMMERS TO JUMP IN THE RIVER AND FLOAT ALONG WITH THE CURRENT ON UNDERWATER FLOTATION DEVICES
THOUGHT THIS WAS NICE IDEA
From our vantage point near the big Blue Water Bridge we could see traffic going back and forth over the bridge.  Not heavy traffic and not many cars.  Maybe one car for every 20 eighteen wheeler trucks.  Ninety percent of the traffic was trucks.  We could hear them up there on the bridge but it was not loud enough to be bothersome.

The wife of a Las Vegas doctor telephoned a local casino and asked to have her husband paged.  "Sorry, Madam," came the reply, "but the house does not make doctor calls."

SHAKE-DOWN CRUISE

PHEEBS HEARS A RASPY SQUAWKING NOISE ACROSS THE RIVER
Rains came in the night and hung around till about 9 this morning with temps remaining in the mid 60's for the day.  Kelly had baked banana loaf bread so we headed over to Richard and Gayle's for morning coffee and eats.

NO NOT THE SUWANEE RIVER.....IT'S THE BAYFIELD RIVER

WHAT IS ALL THAT SQUAWKING OVER THERE SOMEWHERE
OH THERE IT IS.....A BLUE HERON
Short early morning Jeep ride for the little Monkey Beans and I.  Tried to get down along the Bayfield River east of the new bridge for a few bridge construction photos but forgot about a bend in the river there so we couldn't see how the bridgework is coming along.  We'll maybe try a different approach to the bridge next week-end.

NO ALLIGATORS OR POISONOUS SNAKES IN THESE CALM SOUTHWESTERN ONTARIO WATERS
IN  OUR TRAVELS WE HAVE OFTEN NOTICED WHERE THERE ARE FISHERMEN THERE WILL BE LITTER
Not knowing where we'll be for the next couple days I may or may not post Monday or Tuesday.  We'll see how things go, where we end up, and if there is any Wifi along the way.  This will be our short shake-down cruise in the Winnie-Wagon.

NEXT TIME HERE WE'LL HEAD OVER THERE TOP LEFT WHERE BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION IS VISIBLE
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A Mormon acquaintance once pushed Mark Twain into an argument on the issue of polygamy. After long and tedious expositions justifying the practice, the Mormon demanded that Twain cite any passage of scripture expressly forbidding polygamy.  "Nothing easier," Twain replied. "No man can serve two masters."

I AM STILL WRITING A POST EVERY DAY

Have recently been notified by a few of Facebook readers that they are no longer receiving my Bayfield Bunch posts and wondered if I was still blogging every day.  Although hanging on by a thread I am still writing a post every day so there must be something up with Facebook.  With the old Facebook format ending soon I have switched to the new Facebook format and I'm wondering if that has something to do with it.  I did have to switch back to the old format a few times in the past couple weeks but for the most part I'm on Facebook's new format now.

A WELCOME CHANGE INDEED

After our recent spate of rather gloomy and damp depressing wet weather how nice this morning to finally see clear skies and feel warm sunshine.  When Kelly pulled back the drapes shortly after 6 a.m. and said she could see a bright star I knew our lingering cloud cover had dissipated and she was looking at the planet, Venus.  An orange pinkish sunrise filtering through our tall pine trees soon followed and my spirits were lifted.  A welcome change indeed:))

EMPTY GRAIN WAGON IN MORNING'S SHADOW
Sure am liking these cooler days.  My Nurse Practitioner phoned Thursday with my recent blood test results and I guess I'm doing not to bad.  A few little things but nothing serious.  My Diabetes lady called this morning and it looks like I'm doing reasonably well in that department too.  So, despite my complaining at times, I guess I'm still in better shape than I thought I was.

GROANER'S CORNER:((  A man is driving down a country road when he spots a farmer standing in the middle of a huge field of grass. He pulls the car over to the side of the road and notices that the farmer is just standing there, doing nothing, looking at nothing.  The man gets out of the car, walks all the way out to the farmer and asks him, "Ah excuse me mister, but what are you doing?"  The farmer replies, "I'm trying to win a Nobel Prize."  "How?" asks the man, puzzled.  "Well, I heard they give the Nobel Prize to people who are out standing in their field.

OUR PARK IS FOR SALE AGAIN

MOODY SKIES OVER LAKE HURON AT GODERICH'S ROTARY COVE THIS MORNING
Anybody out there got a spare 6 million dollars in your pocket.  If so, you can buy our Five Seasons Resorts Park.  It's officially for sale again as of 19 days ago and here's the Remax Real-estate ad.....Five Seasons Real-estate Ad .  When I looked at this ad I couldn't believe how poorly it was done.  I have never seen an ad this bad.  Look at the photos, they're terrible.  The description of our Park is not only inaccurate and confusing, it is also just plain bad with the wording poorly thought out.  Remax is a professional company so I don't know what happened here.  But anyway, aside from the crappy ad, this puts we the residents back on an unsure footing again regarding the future of our Park and our time living here.

The town of Bayfield is proposing a complete make-over of their main street.  Here is a very well done video of those proposed changes.  Bayfield Main Street Revitalization Project.  I haven't taken many pictures of the new Bayfield Bridge construction lately simply because the bulk of construction at the moment is taking place down at the unseen river level.  Maybe if I think of it Pheebs and I can take a little hike down along the river bank to see what we can see.

ARTIST CONCEPT OF THE NEW BRIDGE COMPLETE WITH A PEDESTRIAN WALK-WAY

GROANER'S CORNER:((
Morris had been playing golf for years, and he had the finest equipment, but his technique never improved a bit.  As his friend watched, he teed up at the first hole and promptly drove a brand-new ball into the woods. On the second hole, he drove another new ball into a lake. On the third, he lost a new ball in another part of the woods.  “Why don't you use an old ball?” his friend asked.  “I've never had an old ball,” Morris said.
