HARRY POTTER LOSES AL IN THE SHUFFLE AGAIN

TO-DAY'S DAY LILY

Rain in the night left us with an all day cloud cover & showers in surrounding areas. Figured it would be a good morning to dig up & re-locate some garden plants. We did a lot of landscaping since moving here & our flowerbeds have all totally filled in so we are always having to thin & move things. This morning it was hostas , potentillas, & a small spirea shrub. While digging out the spirea from beside our sun room I was aware of a sucking sound as it came out of the ground. The hole immediatelly began filling with water & running across the flower bed. I was at a loss as to what had happened until I reached into the water filled hole & felt a rubber hose. A garden hose!! Then I remembered I had buried that garden hose along the back of the flower bed about 6 years ago & totally forgot it was there. It runs from the tap to the other side of our sunroom where I keep the outside hose for watering. Cutting hoses & cables is commonplace for me & I'm sure I hold some kind of record with our local cable company for cutting underground cables numerous times over the years. I'm always digging & planting things & those darn cables just keep moving around all over the place on me!! THIS NICE LITTLE CHIPMUNK LIKES OUR NEW POND LOOK

I'm one of those people who always arrives at destinations on the early side & so it was last night when I pulled up in front of the movie theater in Goderich. The Harry Potter movie was starting at 8 so I was there by 7:15 in case of a line up. Luckily the line was just beginning to form so after a short wait I was in the theater & seated by 7:25. The theater steadily filled with teen-agers of which about 60% were giggling, bubbling pony tailed girls. Maybe 35% teen-age boys with backwards baseball hats & 10% with people over 20 of which I figured I may have been the oldest one in the whole place. I always get a kick out of how the seats to my immediate left & right are always the last ones to fill up. Nobody wants to sit near an old guy with a white beard who is constantly looking at his watch & muttering under his breath. And wearing a baseball cap that is actually facing straight ahead is just too much for most teen-agers anyway. Eight o'clock came & went as the theater kept filling up & it was nearly 8:15 before the movie finally started. The few of us who were considerate enough to be on time for the movie, as usual had to pay the price for those who always have to be cool & fashionably late. Ya I know Al, don't sweat the small stuff!! (doesn't it just bug ya when people tell ya that) HEY, WHO SAYS I'M A NICE LITTLE CHIPMUNK!!

The Harry Potter movie seemed very long with it's usual twists & turns & just as in the other Potter movies I was on the backstretch trying to catch up & catch on to what was happening up there on the screen all the time. The special effects were ok but I still think my first Harry Potter movie was lighter & had more neat-o magic stuff in it. All the following movies seemed to get progressively more violent & darker. I do prefer to watch some movies in a movie theater rather than on DVD though. Can't imagine watching Lord Of The Rings for example on a home television set up. That would be like listening to Pink Floyd through a tin can speaker. I like the theater because of it's big, big, picture & big, big, sound. We have a 42" flat screen piped through our stereo but you do not get the full impact of a darkened interruption free movie theater no matter what you have. But, a lot of movies don't have big sweeping panoramics & special effects with big sound overtures & those kinds I don't mind as much on a DVD at home. But, different strokes for different folks so there ya go!!

GROANER'S CORNER: Did you ever wonder why there are no dead penguins on the ice in Antarctica - where do they go? It is a known fact that the penguin is a very ritualistic bird which lives an extremely ordered and complex life. The penguin is very committed to its family and will mate for life, as well as maintaining a form of compassionate contact with its offspring throughout its life. If a penguin is found dead on the ice surface, other members of the family and social circle have been known to dig holes in the ice, using their vestigial wings and beaks, until the hole is deep enough for the dead bird to be rolled into and buried. The male penguins then gather in a circle around the fresh grave and sing:
"Freeze a jolly good fellow."

SHORT BLOG....I'M OFF TO HOGWARTS IN SEARCH OF THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE

NO, THIS IS NOT HOGWARTS, IT'S MORE LIKE..........FROGWARTS:))

Harry Potter fans out there will know where Hogwarts is but for those that don't it's located in a mountainous and secluded region in Scotland, near a wizarding village called Hogsmeade. The only way to reach Hogwarts is through a Harry Potter book or movie. To-night I plan to take the Hogwart's Express leaving platform nine & three quarters near Bayfield at 7:30 which will put me into the Goderich movie theater & Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry by 8. With any luck I shall find out the secrets of the Half-Blood Prince to-night:))

LOOK UP, WAAAAY UP........AND SEE THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION

KELLY POINTS OUT TO MOTORMOUSE THE ATTACK FROG THAT CHASED ME AROUND THE YARD YESTERDAY

It's been awhile since I've had to get up early for my job but I was on the road by 8 this morning on my way to pick up a young fellow & his nurse with the mobility van. They were off for a day at Church Camp on the shores of Lake Huron. Nice morning for a drive & it was paved scenic back roads all the way. Great way to start the day. Brought the van back home with me because I had to return at 4 & pick them up. Same thing to-morrow & Friday. THE CAMP'S BUNKHOUSE COMPLETE WITH LOTS OF LAUNDRY.....MEMORIES OF CAMP HUH:))

Watched the International Space Station fly over last night again. When we lived in the old farm house years ago we used to see it lot because we didn't have any trees to block the view like we do here. You can see the space station as well. First, you will need to know when the ISS will be visible in your night sky so if you go to SPACE STATION you will see on the left side a place to click on under "Sighting Opportunities." Select your country & then what city you are near. You will get a schedule of when the Station is in your neighborhood plus which direction it will enter & exit the sky. It will tell you how many degrees high it will be & how long it will be visible for. It's a tad brighter these nights because the space shuttle is docked to it making it easily identifiable. There is no mistaking the ISS from all the satellites tracking around the sky because it is very visibly bright & hustles right along. I might try following it with my telescope to-night because I'm curious to see what color socks the astronauts are wearing to-day. Ya right!! RESIDENT SPIDER (LOWER LEFT) WITH ALL IT'S CAPTURED YUMMY GOODIES ABOVE IT

Still no responses to my motorcycle for sale add so I pulled it off the internet a few days ago. We are a 20 cylinder family & it is still by far the cheapest way to go anywhere. Might get a little cold & wet on the way with a few bugs in the teeth & hair that looks like the east end of a horse's mane going west but that's the way it is & that's the way it will be!! Wished there was an easy way to take it with us to the southwest in the winter but there isn't. Our motorhome & car work really well to-gether at the moment without adding another 600 pounds of motorcycle to the back of the rig. Had thought about towing a trailer big enough for the car & bike inside but that would be way to costly for us & add a lot of stress to the rig. And like everything else, there would be a whole list of pros & cons to go along with the whole venture as well adding even more people stress for us. THIS YOUNG ROBIN IS JUMPING FOR JOY AFTER HIS SATURDAY NIGHT BATH

Traveling with bicycles is something Kelly & I don't see quite eye to eye on. She likes to take them & I would prefer to leave them at home. They take a real road grime beating on the back of the rig plus we don't use them very often. Different if we were going to an RV Park & sitting there for 4 months with nothing to do but ride bicycles around the park block 105 times a day!! Oh well, it's just another little thing on my honey-list of un-winnable discussions:(( NEIGHBOR'S RED LILY
