KELLOGG'S MINI WHEATS WITH A NICE DUSTING OF RICE KRISPIES FOR SUPPER

A little bit different start to our day as I helped Kelly carry a few things out to her car for her journey to Spencerport New York.  She planned to leave by 9 so I didn't get to see her go.  Pheebs and I headed for Goderich's A&W about 8:30 where I met our good friends Richard and Gayle for breakfast.  They have been busy gathering together their Georgia travel plans.  R&G have a Class A Motorhome.

AUTUMN TREES ALONG A FARMER'S LANE
From A&W Pheebs and I headed east out of Goderich to Orchard Line where we turned left onto a dead end gravel road.  At the end of that half mile road lay a trail head heading in the direction the Maitland River far below.  We didn't go as far as the river but we did have us a walk around on the higher plain and snapped a few pics.
HEADING ALONG A TRAIL EAST OF GODERICH

CAME UPON A LITTLE POND WE HAD BEEN TO BEFORE
We were home shortly after 11 and settled in for our two weeks of fending for ourselves.  Of course we will make out just fine and before we know it the two weeks will be gone and the Boss will be home to take charge of things once again.
HEADING BACK TO THE JEEP
Another beautiful Autumn day here in southwestern Ontario.  If only it would stay like this until next April but alas winter will soon be upon us and there's not much we can do about that this year unless we get a few lucky breaks like finding a suitable RV and a clean break from medical appointments and related conditions.  Even if we could get away for a month would be good.  Something, anything to look forward to.
SOME OF OUR HOSTAS ARE TURNING YELLOW AND SOME ARE STILL GREEN LIKE THE 'BIG BLUE' HOSTA BELOW
THIS SMALL TREE IS IN OUR FRONT YARD BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS
So for supper tonight I had myself a nice bowl of Kellogg's Mini-Wheats with a light dusting of Rice Krispies on top.  Yes indeed I sure know how to look after myself alright.
GROANER'S CORNER:(( A police officer pulls over a speeding car. The officer says, "I clocked you at 120 kilometres per hour, sir." The driver says, "Gee, officer, I had it on cruise control at 100 kilometres, perhaps your radar needs calibrating." Not looking up from her knitting the wife says sweetly from the passenger seat, "Now don't be silly, dear, you know that this car doesn't have cruise control." As the officer writes out the ticket, the driver looks over at his wife and growls, "Can't you keep your mouth shut for once?" The wife smiles demurely and says, " You should be thankful your radar detector went off when it did." As the officer makes out the second ticket for the illegal radar detector unit, the man glowers at his wife and says through clenched teeth, Darn it, woman, can't you keep your mouth shut?" The officer frowns and says, "And I notice that you're not wearing your seat belt, sir. That's an automatic $75 fine." The driver says, "Yeah, well, you see officer, I had it on, but took it off when you pulled me over so that I could get my license out of my back pocket" The wife says, "Now, dear, you know very well that you didn't have your seat belt on. You never wear your seat belt when you're driving." And as the police officer is writing out the third ticket the driver turns to his wife and barks, "WHY DON'T YOU SHUT UP??" The officer looks over at the woman and asks, "Does your husband always talk to you this way, Ma'am?" "Oh, heavens no, officer! Only when he's been drinking."

"Armstrong," the boss said, "I happen to know that the reason you didn't come to work yesterday was that you were out playing golf.""That's a rotten lie!" Armstrong protested. "And I have the fish to prove it!"

“Doc!” the man yells. I’ve lost my memory!” “Calm down, sir. When did this happen.” The man looked at him. “When did what happen?”

PHEEBS AND I WILL BE HOLDING DOWN THE FORT FOR THE NEXT COUPLE WEEKS

Had heard strong winds drove high Lake Huron waves ashore along the Goderich shoreline eroding the banks and destroying sections of the boardwalk leading from St Christopher's beach out to Rotary Cove.  Figured Pheebs and I had better head to Goderich and have ourselves a look.  Yep, it sure wrecked up sections of the boardwalk alright.
NICE SUNNY DRIVE TO GODERICH THIS MORNING
THESE CEMENT SLABS HAVE BEEN TOSSED AROUND BY LAST WEEK'S HEAVY WAVES
THE WOODEN BOARDWALK WAS SURE TORN UP IN THIS AREA
I'D SAY GODERICH IS GOING TO HAVE A MAJOR RESTORATION JOB ALONG IT'S SHORELINE
THE WOODEN BOARDWALK HAS BEEN TORN OFF THESE CONCRETE PILLARS
THE WAVES HAVE ALSO TORN INTO THE DOG WALKING AREA TUMBLING A LARGE BOULDER DOWN.....YOU CAN SEE IT IN THIS PHOTO AND THE PHOTO BELOW
THIS LARGE BOULDER HAD BEEN SITTING AT THE ENTRANCE TO THE FOOT PATH
Our leaves are turning faster now but there are still a lot of green trees along the countryside bush lines.  With our recent cold clear nights and frost on the ground in the mornings we should have a colorful week coming up.
PHEEBS STALKS A FROG
'I''M GETTING OUT OF HERE DAD THAT FROG MADE A BAD FACE AT ME'
Kelly is heading out in the morning to spend a couple weeks visiting her Mother in Spencerport New York.  She likes to get there a couple times a year and in the past we have stopped a few times at her Mothers on our way South.  Kelly has pre-loaded the fridge for Pheebs and I so us guys won't be starving that's for sure.  She even pre-baked my favorite sea food.....fish stickes:))

Couldn't help but think a few times today that this was the day years ago when we would have headed off for the Southwest.  Of course I am going to have to stop having those kinds of thoughts and get on board with the changes that have occurred and concentrate on the now instead of the past.
'I THINK THERE'S AN ELEPHANT IN THERE DAD'
Still dealing with an overall tiredness I just can't seem to shake.  Don't know if it's the lingering effects of radiation, continuous night's of poor sleep, or my aging body.  Or, a combination of all three.  Whatever it is I wished it would smarten up!!
THIS IS THE GRAVEL PIT RICHARD AND I SOMETIMES TAKE A WALK IN

JUST A DOWNRIGHT NICE AUTUMN DAY TO BE OUT AND ABOUT SOMEWHERE
Looks like we have one more day of sunshine left before we get into five predicted days of possible rain.  Oh Dear!!
GROANER'S CORNER:((   A friend hosted a dinner party for people from work and everyone was encouraged to bring their children.
All during the sit-down dinner one co-worker's three-year-old girl stared at the man sitting across from her.

The man tried his best to just ignore her, but finally it was too much for him. He asked her ,"Why are you staring at me?"
Everyone at the table had noticed her behavior and the table went quiet for her response.
The little girl said, "I just want to see how you drink like a fish!"

A three-legged dog walks into a saloon in the Old West. He slides up to the bar and announces, ''I'm looking for the man who shot my paw!''
