CHASING DOWN AUTUMN COLORS ON A MAINLY CLOUDY MORNING

NORTH OF GODERICH ON THE MAITLAND TRAIL
Our overnight rains left us with a mainly cloudy morning and it wasn't until Pheebs and I were back from our morning Jeep ride around eleven that skies finally cleared.  Autumn leaves really need sunlight to highlight their colors and aside from a few brief sun splashes I missed some nice shots this morning.  But cloud or no cloud I took a few photos anyway.
THE TOWN OF GODERICH IS ON THE HORIZON WITH THE MENESETUNG BRIDGE TOP RIGHT
AND TO THINK BIG STEAM LOCOMOTIVES ONCE RAN THROUGH HERE YEARS AGO
Our travels earlier today took us up to Goderich with a swing down around the harbor then north of Goderich to the Maitland Trail in the area of Tiger Dunlop's tomb.  A swing by the Goderich airport nearby showed a couple planes on the ground.

YOU CAN SEE HOW THE SHORELINE HAS ERODED RIGHT INTO THE PATH LEADING TO THE DOG WALKING AREA

IT APPEARS LAKE WATERS HAVE DROPPED AGAIN
Home again I tackled a Jeep clean-up.  Vacuumed and washed it.  Those wet gravely roads can make such a mess of things and now that I have cleaned it up we can be guaranteed rain again tomorrow.

For supper Monday night I fixed myself up a mighty fine banana and apple shake complete with a dash of cinnamon, a few squirts of orange juice, a dollop of coconut yogurt and skim milk.  I like stuff like that.  For lunch today I boiled me up a chicken TV dinner and for supper I'll probably have a big bowl of Harvest Crunch with a few slices of banana.  Yep, getting along real fine here.
AND HOLY KA-SMOLLEY CAN YOU BELIEVE THERE IS ACTUALLY SOME ACTION AT THE TIM HORTONS COFFEE SHOP SITE AGAIN...WILL WONDERS EVER CEASE
THEY ARE ACTUALLY PUTTING THE ROOF ON
My numerous trips to the washroom are easing up a bit and I am cautiously optimistic this may not be a permanent thing.  I may find more things out in November when I have a meeting with both my Urologist and Oncologist.  At this point I have no idea if my radiation treatments worked or not.
GROANER'S CORNER:((  A man and a beautiful woman were having dinner in a fine restaurant. Their waitress, taking another order at a table a few paces away suddenly noticed that the man was slowing sliding down his chair and under the table, but the woman acted unconcerned. The waitress watched as the man slid all the way down his chair and out of sight under the table. Still, the woman dining across from him appeared calm and unruffled, apparently unaware that her dining companion had disappeared.  After the waitress finished taking the order, she came over to the table and said to the woman, "Pardon me, ma'am, but I think your husband just slid under the table." The woman calmly looked up at her and replied firmly, "No he didn't. My husband just walked in the door."

PHEEBS AND I HAD AN RV TO GO LOOK AT THIS MORNING

My friend Jim from Lifetime Sentences sent me a note saying he had noticed an RV for sale at a farm property east of Mitchell Ontario so that meant Pheebs and I had a destination this morning:))
JUST A BEAUTIFUL OCTOBER MORNING FOR A DRIVE THROUGH THE COUNTRYSIDE
Another superb Autumn morning to be out and about in the countryside again taking in all the glorious scenery along the back roads to Mitchell.  We located the RV which was a nice looking Class BTouring Cruiser but it's a bit longer than what we are looking for and I could tell it's on the newer side so knew it was way more money than we were willing to spend.  If we were just beginning our RV travels we certainly would have seriously considered it but where we are now close to the end of our travels we just don't want to invest a ton of money in an RV when we are unsure of the future and how often we could use it.
CLOSE TO WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR BUT NOT QUITE
I knew of a nice area west of Mitchell for a forest walk so Pheebs and I headed to the spot.  Had been nearly forty years since I last walked the trails through this forest so off we went.  The trails are on private property and haven't been maintained well so I had to pay particular attention to where we were in order to find our way back to the Jeep.  As expected the trail became blocked at one point so we had to take a short cut through the thick forest back to the road.
PARKED ALONGSIDE A TRAILHEAD FOR A WALK IN THE FOREST
IT'S BEEN NEARLY FORTY YEARS SINCE I LAST WALKED THIS TRAIL EAST OF MITCHELL
FORESTS ARE MAGICAL PLACES
IT WAS ABOUT HERE WHERE WE LOST THE TRAIL
'I THINK WE GO THIS WAY DAD'
WE'RE ALMOST OUT OF THE FOREST
YUP THERE'S THE JEEP
Heading home we slowly plodded along taking in all of Autumn's beauty along the way.  Multiple shades of red, yellow, auburn, orange, burgundy and green.  What a beautiful time of year this always is and how fortunate we are to be here to enjoy it.

I can tell Pheebs is missing Kelly.  She's just not quite herself and she is sticking to me like glue.  And she's been needing more snuggles.
LOOKS LIKE THE CORN HARVEST HAS BEGUN IN THIS FIELD
NO HARVESTING IN THIS CORN FIELD YET

HEADING HOME THIS MORNING
GROANER'S CORNER:((   The sheriff pulled up next to the guy unloading garbage out of his Class C motorhome into the ditch in Kentucky. The sheriff asked, "Why are you dumping garbage in the ditch? Don't you see that sign right over your head".  "Yep", he replied. 'That's why I dumping it here, 'cause it says 'Fine For Dumping Garbage'".

Little Johnny and his family were having Sunday dinner at his Grandmother' s house.
Everyone was seated around the table as the food was being served.
When little Johnny received his plate, he started eating right away.
"Johnny wait until we say our prayer."
"I don't have to," The boy replied.
"Of course, you do," his mother insisted. "We say a prayer, before eating, at our house."
"That's our house," Johnny explained. "But this is Grandma's house and she knows how to cook."
