WE ARE CAUGHT IN THE GRIP OF A THREE DAY WINTER STORM

STARTING TO LOOK A LITTLE MORE LIKE 'CHRISTMAS IN BAYFIELD'.....DID YOU NOTICE THE GUY SHOVELING THE DECK?
More snow in the night and it was still snowing when Pheebs and I slipped out the driveway shortly after 8 this morning.  No point in going far so we slipped into Bayfield following our old tried and true travel route.  We checked on the bridge construction, the beach in the harbor, main street, the Tim Hortons fiasco, then had us a drive through the cemetery making tracks in the new fallen snow.  We were home again half an hour after we left and that was pretty much the end of our day.  We have three more of these snowy 25F days and the only thing I will be caringly busy with is keeping the birds, squirrels, and bunnies fed.  By the looks of their ravenous appetites today I will need to have another gravel truck load of birdseed delivered first thing in the morning.  And if this snow doesn't stop falling I may need a new snow shovel too.

PSA NUMBERS CONFIRMED AND AN ARCHIVE POST JEEPS US TO FOUR CONFEDERATE GRAVESITES AT DRAGOON SPRINGS ARIZONA

SIX YEARS AGO TODAY PHEEBS CHECKED HERSELF INTO A WICKENBURG ARIZONA VET CLINIC FOR A CHECK UP
With an incoming storm from America's southwest predicted to roll in sometime this afternoon we were hoping to make the round 105 mile trip to London and back before it got here.  And we did.  Under cloudy skies roads were bare and dry all the way to and from London with no wind, rain, or snow to bug us.

DOESN'T LOOK LIKE ANYBODYS COMING BACK FOR THESE HIKING BOOTS ALONG THE TRAIL
THAT'S THE ONLY PATCH OF BLUE SKY I SAW ALL DAY AND BELOW IS AN ONTARIO'S IDEA OF A SAGUARO
My appointment at the London Regional Cancer Center was scheduled for 2 p.m. so being the early birds we are it was shortly after one when we arrived.  My number was called at 2:10 and by 2:35 we were all done and out the door heading for home.  Doctor Mendez varified my .45 PSA number and said he was pleased with the result.  So was I.  Had us a little chat with a few questions back and forth and that was it.  He wants to see me again around the end of July.  My next PSA check will be in May with my Urologist, Doctor Bukala.

Today's expected storm is now due to arrive over night so I expect we'll wake up to snow on the ground again.  That snow is expected to continue over the next 3 days.
THESE FOLKS ALREADY HAVE THEIR MAPLE SYRUP PAILS ON THE TREES
::An Archive Post::  December 1rst 2010 found us still in Cochise County Arizona and on this day we covered a few rough and tumble desert miles around the north end of the Dragoon Mountains in a 3 Jeep convoy to a place called Dragoon Springs where the remains of 4 Confederate soldiers still lay.  Arriving back to our RV near Elfrida later in the day we met a couple of Bayfield Bunch followers who have become friends and who we last saw in Ajo Arizona just over a year ago.  Here's my post for the day....Confederate Graves At Dragoon Springs.  And here are my photos for this great day...Dragoon Springs And Confederate Graves.
FOR KELLY AND I THIS WAS OUR VERY FIRST TIME JEEPING WITH OTHER JEEPERS....WE WERE THE NEWBIES

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A man was giving a speech at his lodge meeting. He got a bit carried away and talked for two hours. Finally, he realized what he had done and said, "I'm sorry I talked so long. I left my watch at home.  "A voice from the back of the room replied, "There's a calendar behind you..."

THE DAY WE SPENT 3 PLEASURABLE HOURS AT A REAL ARIZONA DUDE RANCH

ATOP OUR BIRD STATION TODAY A MOURNING DOVE CATCHES A FEW WINKS WHILE ENJOYING THE SUNSHINE
Another nice Spring like day and I was able to get the Jeep vacuumed and some windows cleaned in Kelly's Sunbird.  Coming back from our morning drive I also popped the Jeep into Bayfield's carwash for a squirt.  Hasn't been any action over at the Tim Horton's coffee shop next door for about 3 weeks again.
A TOUCH OF MIST ALONG THIS COUNTRY CREEK

LOOKS LIKE WINTER BUT FEELS LIKE EARLY SPRING
SNOW IS MELTING FAST AND LAST WEEK THIS UNPLOWED ROAD WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPASSABLE
We're off to London's Regional Cancer Center Tuesday where I have an appointment with my Oncologist, Doctor Mendez .  I guess we'll talk about my latest PSA numbers and see what he recommends from there.  So far so good and I haven't experienced any after effects since undergoing radiation treatments last Fall.  I'm still as old as new:))
SO NICE TO SEE BARE FIELDS AGAIN

Thanks to Janna from Restoration Cowboy Style for sending us a note yesterday which in part said, 'I finally met Eve today and she remembers you both very fondly.'  Well you may wonder who Eve is??  Well, we met Eve Searle November 30th 2010.  A most remarkable lady and at the time owned Grapevine Canyon Ranch located near Pearce Arizona on the eastern side of the Dragoon Mountains.  Grapevine Canyon Ranch at that time was a well known high end Dude Ranch catering to many European people who came there to experience a true working Western ranch complete with horses and real cowboys.  Kelly and I were ranch sitting a couple miles southwest of McNeil Arizona at the time and we had been scrambling around a few times in Rucker Canyon over in the Chiricahua Mountains looking for old Camp Rucker and the remains of Mary Kidder Rak's house at the same location.  We found both and I published a few posts about our findings.  It was shortly after this I think we received an email from a lady in Cochise County who wondered if she could use one of my photos on her website.  She also knew more of the story about author Mary Kidder Rak and her husband Charlie.  Mary Kidder Rak wrote A Cowman's Wife and I truly recommend it.  A few emails back and forth and we were soon on our way to meet a lady by the name of Eve at a location called, Grapevine Canyon Ranch.  My post for the day picks up the story here at...…. Today We Visited Grapevine Canyon Ranch. (some of the links in the post no longer apply) Remember to click on the smaller pictures to enlarge them.  My photo album with additional photos for the day is here at.....Grapevine Canyon Ranch.  Click on the first photo to enlarge it then arrow right to go through the photos or arrow left to go back.  Eve sold the ranch a number of years ago and the only website I found describing the ranch was a Realtors ad regarding the  Ranch Sale.  I'm assuming it's a private ranch now.  What a beautiful place it was and by the way, putting this together tonight I found out Eve is still very actively Blogging and you can find her at Latest News From Eve At Cobre Loma.  You will find her writing enlightening and her adventuress stories of life on the ranch over the years entertaining.  She has an archive of posts going back to 2008.  Since I just found Eve again you can now also find her on my sidebar:))
