A CALL FROM THE LONDON HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER TODAY...BUT IT WASN'T FOR KELLY

CONE (ECHINACEA) FLOWERS ALONG THE LANEWAY LEADING TO THE BAYFIELD CEMETERY
With temps and humidity ramping up under clear blue skies early this morning I knew it would already be too hot and sweaty for a walk at our country road spot so Pheebs and I beetled off into Bayfield.  A swing down around the beach, a cruise down Main Street, and then off to the carwash we went.  That done we headed for Bayfield's cemetery where I knew there to be lots of shade trees for walking.  Luckily, the mosquitos weren't too bad and the half dozen or so that attacked us I unfortunately had to hasitly vanquish.

WE STARTED OUR WALK DOWN THIS SHADED ROAD

 HEADING BACK TO THE CAR
Home again, I got right at vacuuming and cleaning Subie's interior before the humidity knocked me out of action.  I think the best way to keep its interior cleaner is for Pheebs and I to switch back to using the Jeep in the mornings again.  The smooth quiet ride coupled with the excellent sound system and open sunroof in the Subaru has definitely spoiled me.

A phone call from the London Health Sciences Center came as a surprise late this morning simply because the call wasn't for Kelly, it was for me.  It was the Surgical Care Musculoskeletal Rapid Access Clinic.  In other words, it was about my hip replacement.  They have set up a phone appointment for me on August 11th with an Advanced Practice Therapist who will ask me questions about my hip and provide me with information.  I have a medical form to fill in before the phone call as well.  The therapist will then send her report and the medical form to an appropriate hip replacement specialist who will see me as soon as possible in regards to my hip issue.  I assume it is this person who will decide when to fit me in.  I will have a choice of seven places where I can have this procedure done.....London, Stratford, Woodstock Owen Sound, Tillsonberg, St. Thomas, and Strathroy.   My personal choices are London or Stratford.  The current waiting time for a hip replacement is between 6 months and two years.  We'll see what happens.........

  1. Find a doc that does surgery from the front (anterior). Here, patients go home same day. It's an easy surgery and so worth it.
