MOST OF IT HAS GOTTA GO!!

PHEEBS AND I HEADING INTO BAYFIELD SATURDAY NIGHT FOR ICE CREAM
Saturday night after supper, Lorraine suggested I take Pheebs to the Woodland Drive-in for ice cream, so that's what I did.  Pheebs appetite of late has greatly dwindled, and it has been difficult coming up with things she will eat.  But that hasn't deterred Woodsy, and she has been busy cooking for Pheebs and coming up with inventive combinations of yummies to entice her to eat.

SHE WAS ABLE TO SIT UP ALL THE WAY THERE
SHE SURE LOVED HER ICE CREAM
HOME AGAIN
ALTHOUGH A BIT WOBBLY, DOWN THE RAMP SHE CAME
UP THE FRONT PORCH STEPS WHERE WOODSY IS WAITING FOR HER
 MORE ICE CREAM
Sunday morning dawned big, bright, and sunny with temps already over 40°F by 8 a.m.  I didn't bother with a car ride, figuring Pheebs wouldn't be interested in going.  Instead, I got right at my clean-up project and centered my energy and efforts on our back porch and deck area.  Happy to say I made great gains, and with Lorraine's help, it's another area now clear, organized, and free of unnecessary clutter.  Burnt up more things in the fire pit as well.  Today made up for Saturday's lost and very depressing day.  A second nice day is predicted for Monday, so hopefully, with Woodsy's help, I can forge ahead and continue with the clean-up.  Efforts will probably be concentrated on cleaning out the metal shed where stuff has been accumulating for the past twenty-two and a half years.....and then some.  Most of it has gotta go!!

MY TRUSTY NAVIGATOR FOR THE PAST NEARLY 14 YEARS IS SADLY IN HER FINAL DAYS
Al's Music Box:))  Laughing is a popular song by Canadian rock band The Guess Who. It peaked at #1 on the Canadian Singles Chart for a single week and at #10 on the United States' Billboard Hot 100, becoming the band's second single to reach the Top 10 on the latter. It became their second of three gold records in the United States.  It appeared on their 1969 album, Canned Wheat, and was released as a single that year. It sold more than 350,000 copies in the first three weeks of release.  Dave Bist of The Montreal Gazette has written that 'These Eyes' and 'Laughing' gave its audience the impression that the group only made music for the money. 'Undun', the group's third "biggie", and 'No Time', he wrote, changed that impression.

HEADING HOME
Groaner's Corner:(( Three handsome male dogs are walking down the street when they see a beautiful, enticing female poodle.  The three male dogs fall all over themselves in an effort to be the one to reach her first, but end up arriving in front of her at the same time. They're speechless before her beauty, slobbering on themselves and hoping for just a glance from her in return.  Aware of her charms and her obvious effect on the three suitors, she decides to be kind and tells them, "The first one who can use the words 'liver' and 'cheese' together in an imaginative, intelligent sentence can go out with me."  The sturdy, muscular black Lab speaks up quickly and says "I love liver and cheese."  "Oh, how childish," said the Poodle. "That shows no imagination or intelligence whatsoever." She turned to the tall, shiny Golden Retriever and said, "How well can you do?"  "Um. I HATE liver and cheese," blurts the Golden Retriever.  "My, my," said the Poodle. "I guess it's hopeless. That's just as dumb as the Lab's sentence." She then turns to the last of the three dogs and says, "How about you, little guy?"  The last of the three, tiny in stature but big in finesse, is the Chihuahua. He gives her a smile, a sly wink, turns to the Golden Retriever and the Lab, and says: "Liver alone. Cheese mine."

Boy Scouts from the city were on a camping trip. The mosquitoes were so fierce that the boys had to hide under their blankets to avoid being bitten. Then one of them saw some lightning bugs and said to his friend,
"We might as well give up. They are coming after us with flashlights."

  1. How nice that Woodsy is helping so much and cooking treats for Pheebs. Strange thing, but never in my 45+ years of having dogs did I ever think to let them try ice cream. Hmmm...just never occurred to me. Sweet lil Pheebs, she's got as much gray hair as I do. Tell her each day until the end that you love her, otherwise you'll wish you had. Great pics of Angel Kelly.

Sad to see Pheebs looking so tired😢. Glad to know you have Woodsy helping and keeping you company. My dog loved ice cream too, .it has been three years this month since we lost her at sixteen…

  7. Al,
I have been reading your blog for about 5 yrs. now. I believe you are doing your
best when you let yourself rely on you. I am the same way when it comes to
organizing, just a little help & you get back on track in unburdening yourself
from the clutter of life, along the way, that accoumulated. Point me in the
right direction & I seem to get a lot done in a day or two or more.
Pretty soon you will have your place up to snuff & how you want it to reflect
you. Then you can put your feet up & relax. Good luck.
Please give Pheebs a hug from me, along with a scruffle on the face.
I lost my Chloe girl, a year ago. I still shed a tear or two when I think about her.
I told her she was a good girl & did a great job being a companion & that I loved her & gave her a big hug & ice cream, in her final earth - days.
That made me smile big time about Pheebs & her ice cream.
Well take care of yourself & each other, sincerely Melynda.
I'll keep on reading your blog, listening to the songs, & looking at the gorgeous
pics. & Thanks Al. sending hugs all around. Bye.

  8. Hearing that the Pheebs is doing poorly breaks my heart. We have had 12 dogs over the years, and a little big of my heart goes with them every time it's their time to leave. When I lost Laser so soon (2 months) after losing Dave, I completely lost it. I was so lucky to be visiting my daughter, who helped me immensely, just like Woodsie is doing for you. Over 2 years later, when I think about that time, I still tear up. She's been such a sweet girl & good companion for you; my thoughts are with you at this extremely difficult time.
