SUNDAY NIGHT SUNSET IN THE COUNTRYSIDE |
Not much going on during this hot spell we're having at the moment, folks. However, I did take a lawn chair out last night to my country road walking spot and sat gazing up at the stars until nearly midnight. Oh, how nice the warm Summer night's breeze. Besides stars and constellations, I saw eight aircraft, four satellites, two meteorites, and three Iridium flares. And, before that, I do have a few photos of my Sunday evening twilight drive around the countryside.

AN OLD BARN IN TWILIGHT'S EARLY GLOW |
A longer-than-usual drive this morning through the beautiful summer countryside, but I couldn't seem to interest myself in taking any photos. I did manage a short walk at the Linwood Conservation Area on Pavilion Road. For Pheebs and I, it was always one of our favorite stops along the way. Tonight, I plan to head out again and spend some more time wandering the evening country roads and sitting out under the starry night sky. These quiet alone times for me are always precious......and healing.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A California Highway Patrolman pulled a car over and told the driver that because he had been wearing his seat belt, he had just won $5,000 in the statewide safety competition. "What are you going to do with the money?" asked the policeman. "Well, I guess I'm going to get a driver's license," he answered. "Oh, don't listen to him," yelled a woman in the passenger seat. "He's always a smart aleck when he's drunk." This woke up the guy in the back seat who took one look at the cop and moaned, "I knew we wouldn't get far in a stolen car." At that moment, there was a knock from the trunk, and a voice said, in Spanish, "Are we over the border yet?"-------------------------------------------
Your veterinarian won't tell you this but if your dog is running a fever, go to the store and buy some mustard and ketchup.
It's the best thing for a hot dog.

Had to look up Iridium flares; never heard of them before. Great to have read about them on Google, thanks for the learning...wonderful that you're enjoying the starry skies.
ReplyDeleteTrivia: Alexander the Great and Winnie the Pooh have the same middle name.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed your musings and lovely photos. The photos of the deer were fantastic, especially the last one. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWow. I had no idea a deer's ears could turn around backwards like that. Amazing photos of it bounding thru the wheat. Love and Prayers as Always. Thanks for being there, Al.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of the deer. I too had no idea they could turn their ears around!
