CALLING THEM A BUNCH OF LITTLE 'FLUTTERBUMS'

 FRIDAY'S EVENING SUN FILTERS THROUGH THE PINE TREES AND LIGHTS UP THESE RED CHAIRS IN OUR PARK

With clear blue skies all day Friday and cooler temperatures in the air, I knew it would be a mighty fine night to slip out and sit a spell under the starry night sky.  So,  about an hour after my Friday night phone call with Aunt Jean, who incidentally is doing fine, I hopped into the Subaru and headed east out of the Park to my country road walking spot.  Stepping out of the car and looking south I immediately saw the marvelous constellation, Scorpious low in the southern sky.  I immediately said, "Aunt Jean says Hello.'  Scorpius, along with Orion, are two of Aunt Jean's favorite constellations.  Unable to be outside at night, and with all the light pollution in Sarasota, Florida, it is unlikely Aunt Jean will ever get to see the starry night sky again.  But, I can see it for her, and convey her message to the starry heavens above........ I saw seven aircraft, five satellites, one meteorite, and nothing unusual.  Darn!! I treasure my occasional nights under the starry night sky and last night I was able to pick out a number of constellations such as Scorpius, Sagitarius, Ursa Major ( the Big Dipper), Cassiopeia, Cygnus, (the Swan), Aquila, (the Eagle) Lyra (the Harp) the Corona Borealis, as well as the stars, Arcturus, Antares, (the heart of the Scorpion) Spica, and the North Star.  And, it's a good thing I went out Friday night because tonight we have a heavy cloud cover.

 THERE IS SOMETHING ODD ABOUT THIS PHOTO....LOOK CLOSELY, AND YOU WILL SEE A MAN'S LEGS STANDING BETWEEN THE COMBINE AND THE HEADER, AND TO ME HIS LEGS ARE WAY OUT OF PERSPECTIVE COMPARED TO THE SIZE OF THE COMBINE AND THE HEADER

An early country morning walk started my day off on the right foot.  How great to be alive on quiet mornings like these.  Just as a year ago at this time, when Pheebs and I walked together here, I was accompanied by butterflies. And, how nice to see them so close up.  Little Yellow Sulphur and Monarch butterflies flitted around me as I spoke softly to them, calling them a bunch of little 'Flutterbums'.

Home again, and with temps and humidity still temporarily acceptable, I busied myself with my carport area project.  Using my trusty electric roto-tiller, I scuffed up more of the area where we once parked our motorhomes.  I'm hoping to turn this section into grass....that is, if I can get the darn stuff to grow.  It has turned out to be no easy feat for me.

 I REMEMBERED A SMALL TRIPOD I'VE HAD FOR YEARS, AND IT WORKS PERFECTLY WITH THE IPHONE

I ALSO FIGURED OUT HOW TO USE THE 'SELF-TIMER' ON THE IPHONE

 I TRIED THE CAMERA AND TRIPOD IN THE CAR AND IT WORKS WELL AS A PORTABLE DASH CAM, BUT I HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT YET HOW TO GET THE IPHONE VIDEOS INTO MY PICASA PHOTO EDITING PROGRAM TO USE IN MY BLOG

 THE CAMERA DOES NOT MOUNT DIRECTLY ONTO THE TRIPOD....I HAVE A CAMERA SHUTTER BUTTON ADAPTOR ON THE PHONE, AND IT  HAS A STANDARD TRIPOD THREAD MOUNT

 I WAS ABLE TO GET A LITTLE MORE DONE ON MY LATEST OUTSIDE PROJECT TODAY
