HE'S GOING TO PICK SOME CORN COBS UP ON HIS WAY THROUGH

A nice Monday night in Bayfield again, with the added bonus that we didn't stop at any of the three ice cream places.  Snapped a few more sunset pics, and enjoyably cruised around Bayfield until well after dusk before heading home.

Another fine morning for a drive with the windows down and the A/C on.  Ya, ya, I know, it don't make much sense to me either, but that's just me being me.  As soon as I stepped out the door this morning, I heard an aircraft nearby, and I could tell by the heavier engine sound that it was making repetitive tight turns (I attended a lot of air shows years ago) My guess was that there was a crop duster nearby somewhere to the east.  Well, with my little boy's fascination with airplanes, it didn't take me long to hustle myself out of the Park and make haste east along Bayfield River Road.  With my eyes to the sky, heading north on Tipperary Line, I soon spotted the small double-winged yellow plane with the big Harvard-sounding engine in it, and sure enough, it was a crop duster alright.  I quickly pulled over to the side of the road and grabbed my camera.  General Airpray is based near Lucan, Ontario.

THIS WAS MY FIRST SIGHTING OF THE CROP DUSTER AS IT SUDDENLY CROSSED THE ROAD UP AHEAD OF ME
IT DUSTED THE CORNFIELD THEN BANKED TO THE LEFT, MAKING A WIDE RIGHT TURN TO COME DOWN ACROSS THE CORNFIELD FROM WEST TO EAST
IT COMES OUT OF ITS RIGHT HAND TURN AND BEGINS TO LINE UP WITH THE CORNFIELD
 IT ANGLES DOWN
IT INCREASES ITS ANGLE OF ATTACK
'YIKES', I THINK THIS GUY IS NOT ONLY GOING TO SPRAY THE CORN, BUT HE'S GOING TO PICK SOME CORNCOBS UP ON HIS WAY THROUGH
HOLY SMACKERS, I THINK HE'S GOING TO HARVEST THE CORN TOO
WOW, HE'S GOT HIS NOSE UP AND IS POURING ON THE POWER
UP IT GOES IN A SWEEPING LEFT TURN AND THEN A LONG RIGHT TURN TO SET UP ON THE CORNFIELD AGAIN FOR EAST TO WEST
IN IT COMES NOSE DOWN
SECONDS AFTER I TOOK THIS PHOTO HE HAD THE NOZZLES ON FOR ANOTHER PASS ACROSS THE CORNFIELD
After taking a dozen or so photos of the airplane, I continued on with my morning drive, heading further north on Tipperary Line.  Reaching Kitchigami Road, I turned left for one concession and then turned left again on Whys Line.  Whys Line is where a tornado touched down a few days ago.  In fact, it has now been confirmed that three tornadoes touched down all in this one area.  No injuries or loss of life, but there was some minor damage in the Shelter Valley Campground between Goderich and Clinton.

AND THAT RUSSIAN SUBMARINE THAT ACCIDENTALLY SURFACED AND BECAME STUCK IN A FARMER'S FIELD ON TIPPERARY LINE YEARS AGO IS STILL THERE BUT I THINK THE CREW FLEW BACK TO RUSSIA ON AIR CANADA
Home again, I puttered around the house for a bit, and then Woodsy and I loaded her bicycle into the Subaru, and I drove her into Bayfield, whereupon she biked around town for the next hour and a half, putting 6 miles on her iPhone watch odometer.  Picked her up at Clan Gregor Square at 3 p.m.  She said there was a really nice cool breeze in Bayfield coming right in off the lake.

A doctor told his patient after reviewing his x-rays he needed surgery costing $5000.
The patient said he only had $500.00 and what could be done. The doctor said, "Well, I can always touch-up your x-rays."

Little Johnny was caught swearing by his teacher. "Johnny," she said, "you shouldn't use that kind of language. Where did you hear such talk, anyway?" "My daddy said it," he responded. "Well, that doesn't matter," explained the teacher. "You don't even know what it means." "I do, too!" Little Johnny retorted. "It means the car won't start."

  1. Gosh, is it safe to be so near that plane that's spraying who-knows-what? Good for Woodsy getting in another 2 hour bike ride. Lovely photos, and those memories of buying your Congress house must be wonderful.
