SO I SLOWLY TRUNDLED MY WAY HOME

THE ONLY THING THAT CAUGHT MY PHOTO INTEREST WAS A HERD OF COWS CLUSTERED UNDER A BIG SHADE TREE TRYING TO BEAT THE HEAT ON THIS HOT SUMMER FLY INFESTED DAY
A longer morning drive than usual this morning found me dusting up a few country roads down around the Zurich area.  Of course, when one is moving along about 15 mph, everything seems to take longer.  While in Zurich, I surprised myself by stopping at the Zurich Vet Clinic on the off chance to see if they might have a poor little rescue doggy there needing a good home.  They didn't, so I slowly trundled my way home.  Our oppressive heat wave continues, so I have not been straying far from my cool air-conditioned dwelling.  I have things waiting to be done outside, but they will just have to wait for cooler weather.  I drove Woodsy into Bayfield this afternoon for her bike ride and picked her up an hour and a half later.

ANOTHER SUNDOWN
GROANER'S CORNER:(( On the first day of school, a first-grader handed his teacher a note from his mother.  The note read, "The opinions expressed by this child are not necessarily those of his parents."

"Mr. Clark, I'm afraid I have bad news," the doctor told his anxious patient. "You only have six months to live."  The man sat in stunned silence for the next several minutes. Regaining his composure, he apologetically told his physician that he had no medical insurance. "I can't possibly pay you in that time."  "Okay," the doctor said, "let's make it nine months."

- I bought a bag of air today…The company that made it was kind enough to put some potato chips in it as well.

A man was giving a speech at his lodge meeting. He got a bit carried away and talked for two hours. Finally, he realized what he had done and said, "I'm sorry I talked so long. I left my watch at home."
A voice from the back of the room replied, "There's a calendar behind you..."

  1. Agh. Poor cows...FLIES. If they're horn flies, they'll bite a bit. Doesn't look like they're staying within reach of a swatting tail, so they're kind of smart.

  2. Awwww...maybe the vet can call you if there's a orphaned older doggie available sometime. Bless you for asking. Love the bright colours in Kelly's bedroom. And, of course, wonderful photos of Pheebs too.

  3. On your first photo of the cow either your lens was dirty or there are a zillion small bugs on the cow and flying around. Yuk! Glad to hear you're casually 'pup' scouting. Surely there are some shelters in the area for you to check out. That sounds like a good idea for you!

  7. Even as miserable as these hot days can be, at least we're not (I hope) dealing with all those flies! I love marinas and your sunset is so pretty. Fun to see the young Pheebs taking in her world. Isn't that glass bee just beautiful!

  8. I have been thinking of you and wondering if you were ready for a new furry friend (or two!). Check out goldenrescue.ca. They currently have a few elders available that may be just what you are looking for. Youngsters available as well. We have two rescues from them and highly recommend the organization.
