I COULD VERY WELL HAVE ENDED UP WITH A BLACK EYE

OUR AREAS ANNUAL WHEAT HARVEST HAS BEGUN
A shorter drive this morning took me down along the Bannock Burn Line.  The road goes north and south, with most of the forest scenery closer to the south end at Mill Road.  And especially so in the Fall of the year with all the hardbush's beautiful Autumn colors. I always manage to find a few photos along this stretch of the road, regardless of the season.

I STOPPED ALONG THE WAY AT A COUPLE OF RIVERS AND A FEW CREEKS

NOT SURE WHAT THAT BROADLEAF PLANT IS, BUT THERE WAS A LOT OF IT ALONGSIDE THE ROAD
WATER LEVELS ARE LOW IN SOME OF THE WATERWAYS

The annual wheat harvest has begun in our area, and it's a busy time right now for farmers.  Of course, some farmers might disagree by saying, 'hey, it's always a busy time for farmers!!  Okay, let's give them that.  A lot of big farm machinery and trucks are moving around on country roads right now.

Home again, it was too hot and humid for me to do anything outside, so it wasn't long before Lorraine and I were headed to Goderich.  For a change of pace, we decided to have breakfast at a new place in Goderich that neither one of us had been to before.  The Stacked Pancake House is located in the mall at the south end of Goderich.  As soon as I walked in the door, I liked the place.  Bright, bold colors and very clean looking.  Woodsy had the 'The Great Canadian' omelet, and I had the 'Homestyle' omelet.  Neither one of us had any pancakes.  We were both impressed with the food and service, and agreed that we would go there again sometime.  Lorraine insisted on paying for breakfast, and I knew if I tried to argue with her about that, I could have very well ended up with a black eye.  From there, it was a stop at the Dollorama store as well as Walmart.  I had a prescription to pick up at the Pharmacy, so I reluctantly went in to push the grocery cart around.  From there, it was home we went with a few pics along the way, and me grumbling about having to push the grocery cart around:((

Monday night, we headed off to my favorite country road walking spot for a walk, followed by a drive into Bayfield.  We have finally agreed to 'no more ice cream cones'!!  It's no wonder I had to put extra air into the Subaru tires due to the added weight the car was having to carry.  We didn't stay in Bayfield very long, and after the sun had slipped below the horizon, we beat a path for home.

SPOTTED THIS TWO-MASTED SHIP FROM PIONEER PARK
 IT WAS FAIRLY CLOSE INSHORE
I DID SEE THE NAME OF THIS BOAT ON FACEBOOK BUT NOW I CAN'T REMEMBER IT...IT'S A TRAINING VESSEL FROM OTTAWA

GROENER'S CORNER:(( At last, the first woman ever was elected U.S. president. She called her mom to make sure she was coming to the inauguration. "I don’t know, dear. What would I wear?” "Don’t worry, Mom. I’ll send a designer to help you.” "But you know I need special foods for my diet.” "Mom, I’m going to the president. I can get you the food you need.” "But how will I get there?” "I’ll send a limo, Mom. Just come!” "OK, OK, if it makes you happy.” The great day came, and Mama was seated with the future cabinet members. She nudged the man on her right. “See that girl, the one with her hand on the Bible? Her brother’s a doctor!”

A guy is at the driving range having a very bad day. Everytime he tries to hit t balls he tops them,  and the balls only go about 20′. Finally disgusted, he turns to the pro on the range and mutters,” If I don't connect with this one, I'm gonna jump in that lake and drown myself!” The Pro looks at him and says,” I don't think you can do it.” “Why not,” He asks. The Pro says, “I don't think you can keep your head down that long!”

A pastor who was badly overworked went to the local medical center and was able to have a clone made. The clone was like the pastor in every respect--except that the clone used extraordinarily foul language. The cloned pastor was exceptionally gifted in many other areas of pastoral work, but finally, the complaints about the dirty language were too much. The pastor was not too sure how to get rid of the clone so that it wouldn't look like murder. The best thing, he decided, was to make the clone's death look like an accident. So the pastor lured the clone onto a bridge in the middle of the night and then pushed the clone off the bridge. Unfortunately, there was a police officer who happened by at that very moment and arrested the pastor for making an obscene clone fall.

  1. The look on baby's face when she looks at Pheebs! Delightful. And seeing those omelettes reminds me I'm hungry. Lovely clean looking pancake house. You were going to tell us the bicycle story re Woodsy. Just curious.
