After a walk in the Bayfield Cemetery, it was another drive around Bayfield for us, complete with another walk out onto the pier at Bayfield's beach.

A long drive this morning with my travels taking me north of Clinton, past the Hullet Marsh, up through the south end of Blyth, down through Ben Miller, and over to Goderich. From there, it was back to Bayfield for a walk in the cemetery and then home. It was one of those mornings where the sadness of the past seven months weighed heavily on my mind.............

Al's Music Box:)) True Love Ways by Buddy Holly.
GROANER'S CORNER:(( One day, Uncle Joe got fired from his construction job. His nephew asked him what happened. “You know what a foreman is?” he asked. “The one who stands around and watches the other men work?” “What’s that got to do with it?” he asked. “Well, he just got jealous of me,” Uncle Joe explained. “Everyone thought I was the foreman.”--------------------------------------
A pirate walks into a bar with a paper towel on his head, sits down, and orders a drink. The Bartender serves the pirate his drink, and asks about the paper towel. The pirate smiles and says, "That be the bounty on me head!"

Eight-year-old Sally brought her report card home from school. Her marks were good...mostly A's and a couple of B's.
However, her teacher had written across the bottom: "Sally is a smart little girl, but she has one fault. She talks too much in school. I have an idea I am going to try, which I think may break her of the habit."
Sally's dad signed her report card, putting a note on the back: "Please let me know if your idea works on Sally because I would like to try it out on her mother."

Yes, we're all sad about the last 7 months too, Al. A tough time, but the photos bring back lovely memories. And it's memories that'll last. That hawk was sure giving you the evil eye, haha.
ReplyDeleteBarb M.
That tree sure is full of life! Whoa Al, I think that is a juvenile eagle there! They don't get adult color until about their third year. Good photos!
ReplyDeleteI agree about the eagle. Looks like the ones I watched hatch on YouTube this Spring. Out in Big Bear California. Beautiful photography & such sweet memories, Al.
DeleteNew beginnings are always fun to remember, the best of all I think...glad you have such a good memory of the Congress house. Endings are harder, and you've had quite a few in the last 7 months. And they are, one way or another, followed by new beginnings, so....
ReplyDeleteYes Al, sad memories will resurface from time to time. Love the photos of Kelly and Pheebs. I'm so glad you're still active and able to get out and enjoy your drives and you always manage to get some great photos. Love the ones of the hawk. (Bev)
ReplyDeleteHold your precious memories close, no one can ever take them away from you!!!
ReplyDeleteTake care.
Hi Al., at first glance - I thought that Pic of a hay rake was a Peacock.! Lol.
ReplyDeleteFor happy times please get a dog
ReplyDeleteThe hay rake really belongs here as it looks like art too!
ReplyDeleteI think Bono is right. The US sure needs something.
ReplyDeleteWish I could give you a hug but kind, healing thoughts will have to do. Thanks for all the wonderful countryside photos, the memories, the groaners and the gorgeous art. One day at a time, one foot in front of the other. 🩵
ReplyDeleteI'm glad, somewhat selfishly, that you continue to capture and share your country meanderings. It's such a lovely area you live in. Accessing our memories from years past is a mixed bag. I'm glad I have them, and love reminiscing - but whew they can also cause real envy and sadness for times left behind. Amen to more Canada!
ReplyDeleteIt's hard as we all get older, but you've had more than your share of losses in seven months. So glad you have Woodsy, but maybe you need another dog!
