After a spell of back-to-back rainy days, it was so great to see old Sol poking his head through the morning cloud cover. Such a beautiful land we live in, and with blue skies and big, puffy white clouds overhead, it just made me thankful to be at this stage of life, surrounded by our serene and peaceful rural countryside. Cows grazing in pastures, horses kicking up their heels in fields of green, and herds of sheep carefully being watched over by their vigilant Llama companions. I am so fortunate to live where I do, and so fortunate to have the friends that I have. And, how fortunate to live in this great country of Canada.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( Kathy began a job as an elementary school counselor and she was eager to help. One day, during recess, Kathy noticed a young girl standing by herself on one side of the playing field while the rest of the kids were playing a game of soccer. A while later, Kathy walked over to the young girl and offered, "Would you like me to be your friend?" The girl looked at Kathy suspiciously, then said hesitantly, "Okay, I guess so..." "Why are you standing here all alone?" asked Kathy. "Because," the little girl said with great exasperation, "I'm the goalie!"

The Associate Minister unveiled the church's new tithing campaign slogan last Sunday: "I Upped My Pledge - Up Yours."Our next song is "Angels We Have Heard Get High."Don't let worry kill you, let the church help. For those of you who have children and don't know it, we have a nursery downstairs. This being Easter Sunday, we will ask Mrs. Lewis to come forward and lay an egg on the altar.

Your pictures of autumn colors are beautiful..... too bad autumn can't last until spring, and skip all that white fluffy stuff they call "snow"..... Jesse Winchester had a song a long time ago which mentioned "I was listening to the six o'clock news cast, when the weatherman mentioned snow - soon as I heard that four letter word I was making my plans to go....if I was a bird I would fly away south, if a bear I would fall to sleep - no way do I want to hang around here when the snow starts gettin' deep..."
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your photos and agree that you are lucky to be living in Canada- Mary Lou in TN
