YES INDEED, I DO LOVE MY E-BIKE

It's not every day a feller can start his day off with a haircut, but by golly, that is just what I did this morning.  It was a nippy and mainly overcast morning that saw me arrive at 9 a.m. for my haircut, or trim, or whatever it was I generally get at the Bayfield Village Clippers.  It was a nice part of the day for a haircut because I was the only one there.  I kind of like being the only person at most places I go.  That way, I have just me to deal with, and not a whole lot of other jinky personalities.  I'm jinkie enough as it is, and I'm about all I can handle in any one given day anyway.

THE TWO RED DOORS ARE THE BAYFIELD VILLAGE CLIPPERS
At the risk of sounding repetitive again, we spent the biggest part of this fine October day outside doing yardwork.  Changes to the landscape are going on, and we're well on our way to having another utility trailer load of yard waste for the Park's recycle area.  I hadn't realized I had planted and transplanted so many Hostas over the years.  I would have counted them all, but I've only got ten fingers to count on, and there's way more than that.

A DENSE STAND OF SUMAC TREES
Taking a break from the yardwork mid-afternoon, we fired up the E-bikes and headed east down Bayfield River Road as far as Stirling Line before turning around and heading home into a stiff westerly breeze.  With the temperature at 60°F it was quite okay.  It was a beautiful sunny afternoon, and I'm so grateful that Lorraine bought me the E-bike for my birthday because up until then I had very little interest in bicycling.  Not being an exercise or bicycle guru, the thought of trying to bicycle up hills and setting my legs on fire did not appeal to me in the least.  Now, with the E-bike, I can power up the hills without losing speed, just like a motorcycle.  But without the noise a motorcycle makes.  Pretty darn nice, I'd say.  I'll be especially happy when we can get off the roads and bike some trails.  The Maitland Valley trail comes to mind.

STOPPED AT THE SOUTH END OF STIRLING LINE FOR A BREAK BEFORE HEADING BACK

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A customer at Green's Gourmet Grocery marveled at the proprietor's quick wit and intelligence. "Tell me, Green, what makes you so smart?" "I wouldn't share my secret with just anyone," Green replies, lowering his voice so the other shoppers won't hear. "But since you're a good and faithful customer, I'll let you in on it. Fish heads. You eat enough of them, you'll be positively brilliant." "You sell them here?" the customer asks. "Only $4 apiece," says Green. The customer buys three. A week later, he's back in the store complaining that the fish heads were disgusting, and he isn't any smarter. "You didn't eat enough, " says Green. The customer goes home with 20 more fish heads. Two weeks later, he's back, and this time he's really mad!! "Hey, Green," he says, "You're selling me fish heads for $4 apiece when I can buy the whole fish for $2. You're ripping me off!" "You see?" says Green. "You're getting smarter already!"

Son: “Mom, can I have $20?”
Mom: “Does it look like I am made of money?”
Son: “Well, isn't that what M-O-M stands for?”

I was out drinking with my Pals at a party last night, when I suddenly looked at my phone and noticed 18 missed calls from my wife. Is she insecure or what? That's an average of 6 calls a day!

  4. Certainly are fine days for yardwork, and for bike riding. Today feels like mid-summer here! I had an E-bike before my injury; they're like magic!
