I JUST GOT AT IT RIGHT FROM THE GET-GO

I WAS A FEW MINUTES LATE FOR MONDAY NIGHT'S SUNSET BUT I DID CATCH SOME RIM LIGHTING AS OLD SOL DIPPED BEHIND A LOW CLOUD COVER ON THE HORIZON
It was pedal to the metal for me all day, working on my big clean-up here.  Not even a car ride for Pheebs and I this morning.  I just got right at it from the get-go.  Made a lot of progress in the carport storage area and and filled one two-wheel dumpster and half-filled two others.  I got rid of all our RV paper stuff like magazines, brochures, maps, etc.  They had been piling up since our beginning RV days back in 2006.  Got rid of a lot of other 'old' RV stuff too...both metal and plastic.

I FIRST TACKLED OUR WOODEN SHED THIS MORNING BEFORE SWITCHING OVER TO THE CARPORT

IN THE CARPORT, PHEEBS GOT SO TIRED WATCHING ME THAT SHE HAD TO LAY DOWN FOR A LITTLE AFTERNOON SNOOZE
I WAS BUSY FILLING DUMPSTERS TODAY
I DISMANTLED AND THEN BURNT UP AN OLD DRESSER
About 1:15 this afternoon, the lawyer's office in Clinton phoned saying the income tax paperwork I had taken in last Thursday is done and ready to be picked up.  So, off to Clinton I went and picked it up.  Surprise-Surprise there was no charge.  I then headed straight away to Goderich and dropped the paperwork off at the H&R Income Tax place.  From there, and with a Wendy's coupon in my pocket for a burg, fries, and coffee, I slipped through the Wendy's drive-thru, grabbed my stash and headed for home.  By the way, it was a beautiful sunny day but a little on the cool side because of the wind.  No matter, I was a happy camper to see and feel the sun shining all day.

Al's Music Box:)) Do Wah Diddy by Manfred Mann is a song written by Jeff Barry and Ellie Greenwich and originally recorded in 1963, as "Do-Wah-Diddy", by the American vocal group the Exciters. Cash Box described the Exciters' version as "a sparkling rocker that bubbles over with coin-catching enthusiasm" and said that the "great lead job is backed by a fabulous instrumental arrangement."  The song was soon covered and made internationally famous by British R&B, beat, and pop band Manfred Mann.  They're version was released on 10 July 1964.  It spent two weeks at No. 1 of the UK Singles Chart in August and two weeks at No. 1 of the US Billboard Hot 100 in October.  Billboard said it "features a powerful beat with Mann's solo echoed by a male chorus."  Cash Box described it as "a thumpin' novelty rocker that's right up the teeners' alley."

GROANER'S CORNER:(( How was your blind date?" a college student asked her roommate.  "Terrible!" the roommate answered. "He showed up in his 1932 Rolls-Royce."  "Wow! That's a very expensive car. What's so bad about that?"  "He was the original owner."

- I recently took up meditation.  It's certainly better than sitting around doing nothing.

- In class, the teacher was trying desperately to get the students to think. He asked, “If the Pilgrims were alive today, what would they be most famous for?”One student quickly responded, “Their age.”

Catelin: My Mom has the worst memory.
Amanda: She forgets everything?
Catelin: No, she remembers everything!

Congratulations my boy!" said the groom's uncle. "I'm sure you'll look back and remember today as the happiest day of your life."  "But I'm not getting married until tomorrow." Protested his nephew.  "I know," replied the uncle. "That's exactly what I mean."

Q: Why do men prefer intelligent women?
A: Opposites attract.

A Jewish man took his Passover lunch to eat outside in the park He sat down on a bench and began eating. A little while later a blind man came by and sat down next to him.
Feeling neighborly, the Jewish man passed a sheet of matzo to the blind man.  The blind man ran his fingers over the matzo for a few minutes, looked puzzled, and finally exclaimed, "Who wrote this?!"

  1. My goodness, Al, I'm exhausted just reading and seeing what you did today. Don't we all accumulate STUFF over the years! It was all important and handy to have at one time...as we age, we either forget what we used it for, or simply no longer have a purpose for it. You're lucky you can have a fire to dispose of stuff. We're not allowed to do that...only 2 weeks of the year with a burning permit to get rid of prunings, etc. (The joys of bureaucracy...NOT!)
