NOW HOW'S THAT FOR SOME SOLID SENIOR REASONING EH:))

GODERICH'S HARBOR AREA ON A SUNNY WARM APRIL DAY
Despite all my coaxing, I could not convince Pheebs to come out for our usual morning car ride.  So, with that, I headed off into Bayfield and back without her.  It just isn't the same when I don't have her sitting beside me in the passenger seat enjoying the scenery going by.

A FEW PICS FROM SUNDAY NIGHT'S SUNSET AT BAYFIELD'S BEACH

LORRAINE AND I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT WHEN THIS YOUNG GIRL STRIPPED DOWN TO HER BATHING SUIT AND VENTURED OUT INTO THE FREEZING COLD WATERS OF LAKE HURON
SHE DIDN'T STAY OUT THERE LONG AND WAS SOON HEADING BACK TO SHORE
THE SUN HAS PRETTY MUCH SET
YOU CAN TELL HOW COLD THE AIR IS BY THE WAY THESE PEOPLE ARE DRESSED
Lorraine and I headed off to Goderich this afternoon with our first stop being the mall in Goderich's south end.  The Wiz wanted to browse around in the Hart store as well as the Treasure Hunt store.  I of course, remained in the sanctity of the car playing with my iPhone and enjoying my ambient music.  Now, I certainly didn't figure I'd ever be buying myself a new shirt again ever (I like the variety at the Goodwill store) but I'll be darned if I didn't get talked into buying one today.  Not only that, but I bought two.  Woodsy had spotted a real darn good bargoon in the Treasure Hunt store and came back out to the car to get me.  A rack of shirts on sale for $6.  In other words, 60% off.  And, guess what??  I'll be darned if I didn't buy two of the darned things.  Same style shirt but two different colors.  'Hot diggity-dog,' I thought to myself.  And, here's how I justified it....At a dollar a pop for coffee at McDonalds, all I have to do is give up twelve coffees and I'll have the shirts paid for.  Now, how's that for some solid Senior reasoning eh:))  After a drive down around the harbor and out to Rotary Cove and back, we next stopped at A&W where I grabbed myself a Double Buddy Burger.  I like them burgers....Woodsy not so much.

LAKE HURON WAS SHOWING OFF HER FINEST COLORS TODAY
I DON'T THINK I HAVE SEEN THE JOHANNA G IN THE PORT OF GODERICH BEFORE...IT IS TAKING ON A LOAD OF GRAIN
Home again with temps surprisingly over 70F under sunny skies, I was able to get a bit of cleaning-up done in our wooden shed.  But, just a bit.  Woodsy headed back to Stratford late this afternoon, so Pheebs and I are on our own again.

SO NICE TO SEE SUNSHINE ON OUR DAFFODILS HERE AT HOME
Al's Music Box:)) Crying In The Chapel by Elvis Presley is a song written by Artie Glenn and first recorded by his son Darrell Glenn. The song was released in 1953 and reached number six on the Billboard chart. The song has also been recorded by many artists, including the Orioles and June Valli, but the most successful version was by Elvis Presley, whose recording reached number three in the US, and number one in the UK in 1965.  On October 31, 1960, Elvis Presley cut a version of the song with plans to put it on his RCA gospel album His Hand in Mine. Three takes were recorded, but neither Elvis nor the Jordanaires, who provided background vocals, were satisfied. Eventually, it was decided to shelve the recordings and move on.  On April 6, 1965, "Crying In the Chapel" was issued on RCA's "Gold Standard Series." It became Elvis' first million seller since "Return to Sender" in 1962 and his greatest chart success over a six-year span.  The single hit number three on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and topped the Easy Listening charts for seven weeks.  It was later included as a bonus track on Presley's 1967 gospel album, How Great Thou Art.  According to Artie Glenn's youngest son, Larry, the song was inspired by a personal experience his father had, and the chapel in the title was the Loving Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas. By this account, Glenn had suffered a serious back problem, and while in hospital, he bargained with God that he would become a better person if God helped him recover. He recuperated from a successful spinal surgery, and when he was released from hospital he went to pray at the nearest chapel he could find. While in the chapel, he started shedding tears of joy, which was witnessed by the pastor. The inspiration for the song then came to him and by the time he was back home, he had the basic tune and the chorus, and that evening he finished the rest of the song.

GROANER'S CORNER:(( A man walked into the produce section of his local supermarket and asked to buy half a head of lettuce. The boy working in that department told him that they only sold whole heads of lettuce.  The man was insistent that the boy ask his manager about the matter. Walking into the back room, the boy said to his manager, "Some doorknob wants to buy a half a head of lettuce."  As he finished his sentence, he turned to find the man standing right behind him, so he added, "and this gentleman kindly offered to buy the other half."  The manager approved the deal and the man went on his way. Later, the manager found the boy and said, "I was impressed with the way you got yourself out of that situation earlier. We like people who think on their feet here. Where are you from, son?"  "Canada, sir," the boy replied.  "Well, why did you leave Canada?" the manager asked.  The boy said, "Sir, there's nothing but bar girls and hockey players up there."  "Really!" said the manager. "My wife is from Canada!  The boy replied, "No kidding???? Who did she play for?"
